Machine Head is ace. Vocalist/Rhythm guitarist used to be a member of VIO-LENCE, which was pretty ace on its first album.
If you're going modern metal then you have to go for either Machine Head or Fear Factory.

And TBH I find the sort of guitar work done by BVB to be very generic and dull.
I don't find it dull, a smidge generic but I still like it... I used to be a huge Dragonforce fan (Not so much anymore) now they were repetitive

And what's wrong with Emo? It's a style of music..... Ya know? Emotive Hardcore... But then again you would probably call me Emo because I wear black and red chequered wrist bands
Emo is so... ...teenage. It sickens me to see grown men play it :P It does its best to appeal to teenagers, but anyone who is not interested in that stuff (IE: me, Scorp, hardened thrash metal fans (IE: me again) and classic death metal fans) will hate it. It just seems so pretentious and pointless; it's more the image than the music. It also never seems to be adventurous; a band like Cynic uses tonnes of progressive and jazz related features and they are generally considered amazing. Then you have an average emo metal band; how about August Burns Red; that uses relatively little experimentation and relies of rather basic playing styles and the lyrical themes over the music itself. And I'm afraid I count Periphery as rather emo too; sorry Pwn. It's the vocalist, I'm pretty sure.

Black Veil Brides - Knives and Pens (EP version) The hate may be interesting
They are both extremely immature, lack proper musicianship and tends to be extremely predictable. Oh, and most of the fans are emo. Agreeeed, but I do really like Pop Punk XD
