We like old fashioned metal because it isn't supposed to appeal to the mainstream and has none of the silly lyrics modern metal and pop-punk have. We don't like pop as it's mainstream and therefore played often, as well as having the predictable lyrical themes and dull/nill musicianship.
Prog is fun because it relies on odd musical elements and a level of complexity not brought by other genres.
Decent hip-hop or trip-hop is entirely decent though.

Joey is even better than before, Scott's as skilled as ever, Frank is as good as ever, Charlie is still God and nobody cares about the lead guitarist 'cus he isn't Dan Spitz. That's mostly awesome. Less cheesy chorus and that would be one  of a comeback album.
