But I'm British ): And to be fair we are also very 'we must not offend each other' but yeah, that's not the point I was making ;p

Considering the speed it runs at and the length of the skirts, it's pretty stable. I haven't tested it in battle, but the only issues come when it hits the shell in the test garage, it tends to flip itself round, but I imagine the weight is a lot more than a BW, and it lands on it's feet pretty quickly, as most designs of this type do.

Today on Craaig Tries To Build Again Because He Can't Sleep... a reboot of BW-MelloYello. The chassis is actually .1kg lighter than the original when both have plastic1. Happy. Alu3 armour... 3 ant batts... Larger ant wheels were needed because of some weird camber I had to use because I fail at RA2 now. 80cm bar made me happy though. The decrease in weapon motor power led to an increase in drive motor power, increase in strength of skirts and length of weapon. Heh. Feel free to rip it apart, you guys know I can't do dis no moar.

Yeah, I still pay for and maintain that server so feel free to let me know if you want to be involved, people.
Add SergeantNoodle for friendship and magic.
Yeah, sorry, I don't really fancy the risk. Nothing personal.

Can we send multiple songs?
Yeah, I'd rather this got off the ground than wait for the few remaining site members who'd enter something to appear and then ignore the thread :P
I agree. It's been a while.

Good job, venko. Shows how much the community has missed original ideas and stuff.
Read the last sentence in my signature...
Apologies.. o.o

All the criticism you got probably came at a good point in RA2's life. There was still innovation and improvement, but things have got a little stagnant round here in recent years, so even if the idea would've been flamed those years back, it's looked upon in a different manner now. At least that's how I think about it. Oh and on a related note, love the ideas :P

I assume if you got a thicker, more durable net and maybe even layered it if necessary, saws shouldn't be an issue flying off?

I'm not sure it'd be practical to be using the o2 a lot if that's part of the suggestion, it's a huge venue that I imagine is very expensive to hire out, besides, they tend to be quite busy with gigs a lot of the time. It would be good if we could go back to the salvaged wheelchair days but I'm not sure people want that..

It does seem like a bit of a catch-22 (or whatever it's called). Spinners are really needed to make the destruction that makes the show worthy of TV. But teams don't get involved because they don't know about it, because it's not on TV.

This is excellent news. I guess the one thing we're missing now is an arena safe enough to let more then flippers and rammers participate. At least that's my understanding of the current situation.
I believe the other thing is if lots of spinners are allowed in more events, more bots will be destroyed, and with teams having much less money and just doing it as a hobby, repairing seems unlikely.

Dude it's Serge's thing. If ANYONE can do anything with it, it's Serge. Not us. Besides all this overlapping components is just plain cheating in most circumstances...

Put it this way when I go to Uni, I will not go clubbing. Any music played in, or could be played in, a club is probably awful. I'd rather save that extortionate amount of money for entry fee and drinks for gigs with actual good bands.

Because someone could wait 'til last minute, see what the majority entries are like, and enter an effective counter to possibly a lot of the bots.

Okay, you mentioned Click. Let's look at BBEANS6 - he entered Bisector. Easily one of the coolest designs there. Apart from Blood Orange. I'm joking.. But yeah, it's plain to see he didn't enter to win, as much as show off an AWESOME new bot. I think, anyway.

I agree. I was actually a little annoyed that Immunization got to the Loser's Bracket final in RIP2, because I shouldn't even be close to awarding myself for something.

Yeah that's because ra2 is a 10 year old game that wasn't fully stable even when it was released.

In an 'Ideas' thread Actually most of the stuff you suggested is possible (only split screens and no/extended repair time limit aren't); the main limiting factor is time. DSL 2.0 has been in development long enough and we want to get it out ASAP. It's not likely we'll be starting anything new now, but I can tell you some of the things on that list have already been made
In a thread 'What do you like/dislike about DSL?' And on that note, the in-game tourneys should be difficult but not undoable with a good bot using the DSL parts and driven well. Since we can't change (that I know of) the between round repair times our other choices are to: *blahblah*
