I have nothing against vets at all, Ian, honest. I have stuff against people who act like they're something special. Vet's have earned the title by being part of the community for an extended period of time, and I think everybody here respects that. It's just when people start making their own hierarchy.

I don't think you should be allowed to enter and/or win a BOTM that you decided the rules on, otherwise it just gets unfair. ACAMS is judging this, not You... Also you should've clarified 'no multibots' in the rules. A multibot is a singular bot, it doesn't count as 2 entries in a tournament for example. It's not a loophole. You forget that I'm making the rules for this one, not You...
Quit putting yourself above every damn person here just because you have a freakin' purple name. You've been away so long that a lot of us members have actually had more time active here than you, 'vet'.

I think people will agree with the amount of work that's had to be done here, that's more than fair enough :P

Yeah, that makes sense, not wanting it out there, however if I saw a 'new cool design' in a tournament, even if I didn't have the .bot file, I would attempt to replicate it using my knowledge. If you're that protective over a 'cool' design, you simply can't show anyone, or people will try to replicate. Therefore taking most of the joy out of discovering an awesome design. After all, in Robot Wars, there were bots that revolutionized the sport. Hypno Disc for example showed people the power of the flywheel. If they wanted to be the only ones who were doing it, they wouldn't have shown anyone, and the entire exercise would've been a waste of time and money.

You're making a leap between cloning and the same bot. No, it is NOT good to enter someone else's bot. However if it is CLONED, as in they made it themselves using a different design, there is nothing wrong with that. If you don't want people to appreciate and replicate the design, DON'T LET ANYBODY SEE IT. I would say my face has been palmed in return but honestly with all these situations in the last few days my palm hasn't left my head, Ian.

To be fair, there isn't a while lot of variation at AW level and I believe you did put your AW chassis up for download, Ian.

You could milk some weight by using ants instead of the orange, I guess? As far as I'm aware, IRL doesn't bound that right now. If it does people need to start building axle supports inside chassis.

My own bot (Mini - Flaming Whizzer) seems to have been used in my own tournament (Robo Zone 2) by another forum member (Jonzu) once before, now while I was OK with that (as I had 2 of my own bots entered instead of 1 lol) someone else could get upset about someone else stealing their work even though the bot has been showcased (like mine was) to try and win a tournament and get credit for the original builders work.
Oh dear. There's a difference between your bot being used and your bot being very similar to someone else's. It's an honour to have your bot kloned, it surely means you're doing it right. Also Venko, the grammar card is possibly the worst card you could play.

I'll open another server within a few days, in the same vein as the old one, as I know many of you enjoyed the choice between Creative and Survival.

Just wanna let anyone that didn't know know that there are GTM Skype groups - 3 in total I think: 1) The one I admin, with most people in it 2) 09/Noodle's more exclusive one 3) The other one about LoL ;p
Anybody that isn't involved in any of these that wants to, feel free to let any of us know. Bear in mind that although these are partially moderated, well I know mine is, profanity is almost certain and with Andy around.. possibly nudity too. :P

Avid viewers may have noticed Loser's Bracket Round 2 went up last night while GTM was down. Links are in the first post. Main bracket round 2 to come within the next day or 2.

Rest of LB R1 matches uploaded, LB R2 to come later on today. Brackets also updated to reflect this.
(Oh and for the record I managed to download an old copy of the XP Windows Movie Maker, because Vegas is still being nasty and Windows Live Movie Maker is nothing but a glorified slideshow maker.)

Just an update - last night I filmed and rendered the rest of LB Round 1, and 2. Unfortunately Vegas hates me and the match parts of each video were just black... so just gimme time to gather the strength to bear the painfully slow rendering and there will be a lot of progress :P
(tl;dr videos either today or tomorrow)

Maybe one idea is to encourage people to run lots of small (8-bot-ish) tournaments rather than 1 big one, it should help keep things fresh. I know I am going for this idea if I decide to host again after RIP3. Youknow, a week in discussion, a few days in signups, a few days in Brackets/Vids, the entire process could be done within 2 weeks.
