@Mechadino, yug1tom, Badnik96: Thanks guys :) Heavyweight looks pretty bad to me. Veeeeeeery fragile IRL. Also, can I get a shot of the LW face on? That's fair enough. If I was making a real robot, of course I wouldn't put the drive motors and weapon motor outside of the main chassis supported by flimsy aluminium :P To be honest, I pretty much built this bot because it looks pretty awesome getting destroyed. Oh, and here's the LW: HW looks a little messy tbh.
That's also fair. It looks messier from some angles than others, I've found.

Like the flippers a lot, but I'm not such a fan of the axe bot, although the extender work on the wheelguards is nicely done.

Two new robots: A decent LW, probably generic, but I can't remember if this design has been done before or not: An interesting HW: Back/Side view:

Maybe someone should put a link to HB's own website ( http://robotwarsra2.webs.com) on the RA2 Massacre wiki page?

Just read the minibots article, and very much enjoyed reading it :)
Some of those battlebots minibots look better quality than the robot wars minibots I own, although there are still some really good robot wars minibots too. I might dig my minibots out and have another look now, to see if they still look up to standard. I remember the pussycat minibot being pretty horrible, but not much else.
Thanks! :3
By all means please do, I've never seen any Robot Wars merchandise. Then again, I've never specifically sought it out but I'm intrigued as to what it's like. :)
Right, a little digging later and I've found them. I don't think I have them all, but I have most of them. I'll edit a picture into this post once I've found a camera.

Both these bots are damn beautiful, some of the best IRL builds all year imo
Woah, that's really high praise. Thanks! New robot: Halberdier And with the hammer down: Skin colours and design based on the Halberdier from AoE 2

I can't find anything on the wiki for you, HB, which is more than a little stupid IMO. Hopefully someone will make a page for you, now that you mention it.

Made a MW that can hold its own against some of the original AI

Just a minor note, all you have to do is re-select the chassis armor to re-adjust the weight.
Thing with chassis armor is that it's saved on the bot file. Also be sure to try hitting something with the new update. and let me know what you think.
Everything seems to really fly when you get a good hit with the new update, which is really cool. Gives a great sense of power and force behind every blow. Fighting the MW shell spinner was especially fun, and I'm really enjoying this. Unless I've forgotten something, I think I have a team ready to send, so I'll send the bots over to you soon.

Got a MW done, and edited the others to make them fit with the new weight limits. Back:

Looks pretty damn good, but how well do razors and maces work together like that?

Yeah, the flipper design was based on Ripper basically. Weight = 581.something. Insides: The flipper is underpowered from what I can tell without bothering to check the numbers, but this actually makes the flipper behave quite like Ripper's flipper did, so I'll probably keep it that way.

I need to get back into DSL, so here's a simple robot to start. It's basically what jaydee's latest robot would look like if I built it. Will probably re-skin it eventually. We'll see.

To me, the way the flippers intersect the chassis looks really off. You could try using smaller bursts and making the chassis shorter, so that the flippers can be flat to the top of the robot without intersecting, or maybe slope the chassis at about the same angle as the flippers. You also have enough weight to make the chassis a bit more interesting than a plain box. Maybe add some side spikes, or slope the sides of the chassis? Up to you, but I think it would make the bot more interesting. EDIT: Forgot to say, I like the name/theme of the robot.

Here's a really quick picture to illustrate the idea:
Where the red is the skirt hinge and the green is where it attaches to the flipper Looks good, the only problem is that when it fires, I think it might look a little off. The reason is on the real chaos 2, the flipper hinge wasn't right at the top, that was the flipper's armour
True, but this is no less realistic and true to the original than the flipper clipping through the robot :P

The only suggestion I would make would be to fix the flipper a bit. Some of the back of it clips through the robot when it fires.
I agree, this has always bugged me. One way I thought it might be possible is by using a modded skirt hinge type burst attached to the top of Chaos's back panel, with the very end of the flipper attached to this. Some of the people more experienced with making and editing replicas and components can tell me if this is a good idea or not. Here's a really quick picture to illustrate the idea: Where the red is the skirt hinge and the green is where it attaches to the flipper

Looks awesome
Heh, if he put some spinning discs on the front, guess who he'd remind me of.
dantomkia
Nah, it's an UHW.
I have no idea which bot you are talking about, but interestingly I actually was going to add spinners to this. I didn't because I couldn't make any decent motor supports/armour due to rule of 7.
