Hope you don't take this the wrong way but I thought I'd try cloning Hammatime the way I'd personally do it, just to show you what you could do if you wanted.
I retained the 5mm alu armour you mentioned, and I'm not saying this is how you should build but hopefully should help you along the way :)
It weighs 799kg so it's super tight and not necessarily super achievable but just to put what my suggestions into perspective :)
What armour is it running? Astros aren't really up to scratch for a heavyweight, might want to downgrade armour a bit to up the drive. also smaller wheels would probably help :)
