Chocolates splash wasnt anything fantastic though but yeah, Hammer only botm and everyone focused on maximum efficiency, walked away with a win for just trying something different.. JoeBlo did that pink-powered flipper, which not too many people voted for because it used pinks, so the giraffe won. Firecracker came close in the end... it was just a little too "out there" I think for people to follow.. some proved / backed up results though I disagreed with Giraffe because a lot of people voted it just to spite the better entries... 405

Little bit of a gold mine I dug up on youtube..
Vinny's channel, some interesting insights and info in comments he has made about the place such as "I'll let you in on a secret - we didn't rupture Matilda's fuel tank. The guys who run the house robots stuffed her full of oil-soaked rags before the fight. It was agreed we could cause Matilda as much damage as we liked, as they wanted to rebuild her. The next series she appeared with a very nasty flywheel instead of the rather pathetic chainsaw." or " What you have described pretty much sums it us. We were pushed around a fair bit but damaged the frame and ripped the motor clean off the weapon. Spoke with Noel Sharkey afterwards about how we thought we'd caused significant damage. His reply was 'well it was evened up as they took your wheel off'. When we pointed out we had all our wheels intact he admitted they'd got it wrong. Too late to reverse the decision by then." and also this gem of a video.. Warheads very first tests http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GUa7i8LQAc&feature=plcp# Im posting this for you all to look and admire.. Please dont be an idiot and spam him through youtube.. 407

Clearing the green lines before resizing allows you to use quick section or magic wand tools cleanly
worth noting that photoshop pushes up file sizes better then other programs but its clumsy work for this kind of thing so it doesnt make much difference 409

Cut the green lines/ insides out to a transparent channel.. then resize, then lay your graphics under...
I usually then bin the top layer and bleed out the images so you have smooth edges when you apply. Just make sure you use multiples and maintain the same ratio when resizing the templates. 410
Real Robotics Discussion / Re: What ever happened to the Robot Wars House Bots?« on: June 25, 2012, 09:20:35 AM »Not really, I'd argue that Dead Metal would beat Matilda very easily. Faster, wide stance, decent weapons... I see your point... but an assfull of flywheel made short work of most robots.. Matilda was the only one really dealing knockout blows come later series.. others could put on a show but really did nothing... 411
Existing Games / Jeremy McGrath's Offroad« on: June 24, 2012, 10:05:09 AM »
I myself was hoping for more real life trophy trucks but looks like a neat game.
Comes out in a few days, only a PSN / XBL download so dont expect it to compete with Dirt or Motorstorm. But seems like a really easy/ cheap way to play multiplayer offroad racing.. http://raceroffroad.com/ 412

IIRC at the time of Matilda's rebuild, the tusk system was also changed..
I think it was along the lines of having them push up rather then being pulled up.. In all honesty, Matilda was the only worthwhile house robot in the end out of the original four (or dare I say all?) 414

Electing yourself as the single person in control doesn't exactly scream teamwork... just sayin' Not saying you can't do this solo, but as a counter argument to my post, it doesn't make all that much sence.. 415
Discussion / Re: A bit of an idea (Involving IRL robots and things)« on: June 21, 2012, 07:23:07 AM »this is original There have been at least 3234738293492376765923 different proclamations for an IRL AI pack. oh noes controversy :P rather then dog-piling on who did or is going to make what first, you should all team up and work together.. you get more out of it that way.. before you ask.. I have no interest in IRL building.. sorry guys ![]() 416
