the whole delete the robots folder and put your bots in it again ? yes, did nothing either, the bots are still corrupted

42
on the topic of corrupted bots, it seems only new bots that were made using the 02 august build are affected, builds from before this build that were edited with this build are fine

also Kix's fix didn't work for me

made a motor-on-top shell spinner cause that's the only way to have a shell that is relatively short in height, stores around 40KJ, shell's around 50-55kg, self-right's about as unreliable as you'd think

still need to figure out what to make for an actual comp, i could bring Dr.Decimation or Hummingbird but i kinda wanna try a bigger diameter vert

yeah theoretical is 42kj, which would be pretty good, but i don't know if he's gonna reach anything close to it in a decent amount of time

6KJ is honestly pretty weak, try a heavier disc for a start, messing around with gearing could help too

the octagon drum actually works decently, i just had trouble making a proper circular drum out of one piece so i did a octagon drum instead

made a very similar design with an eggbeater, but here the weapon supports and angled sides are entirely out of shapes, i don't know how resistant it'll be compared to a full chassis setup, but the eggbeater weapon seems to work better due to better engagement

sup nerds

tried to make a compact drum spinner with the E-Tek since ampflows are really meh for spinner, here is Dr Decimation

this seems to work decently, weapon's pretty powerful, it kinda has trouble driving inverted tho despite the top ears

weapon stats:
3500 RPM
11KJ
26kg
96mph tip speed
spins up to full speed in around 2 seconds

48
i don't know if it's just me, and it's probably intended, but i noticed the hubmotor drum i had would damage itself a LOT on big hits, enough that it can kill itself in 10 hits just from hitting a HW wedge, i also had a case of the drum just breaking off after hitting a rambot a few times

nice, i have a tower vert kinda like that with twice the bar radius but lower mass, so we both have similar KE i think

how long is spinup on this ?

50
i noticed a bug, it seems the bot weight that's displayed in menus is incorrect compared to the weight displayed in the botlab

51
i've noticed that direct driving wheels for drive really doesn't work that well anymore, if you still have direct drive wheels, try using chain/belt drive and gearing them down, helped for a tombclone i had which drove like ass

52
haven't figured out yet how to make a hard hitting spinner yet lol, also flippers seem to clip into other robots on firing

53
i know Tombstone's theorical max is around 100KJ, so that's a base to have for what would be the reasonable max energy you can reach

54
400KJ ? Ray Billings would be proud lmao, i dread to imagine how horribly slow spinup must be

i'll try to make it not look too bad lol

55
well guess next build i'll be making my Deep 6 ripoff E-Tek powered to yeet things into the roof

what's this ? a showcase update ? yay Apex for literally being the only reason this showcase sees activity lol, anyway, here are 2 CWs that i've built like 2 weeks ago now

Ax-Iom (yes i know that pun's horrible), NPCF drive axebot mostly built off of a shell-like setup (with some BFE thrown in there for better internal config), front alu panels to survive 30 seconds more against spinners, probably would be subpar at most but tbh that's axebots for you

Ocean Tide, NPCF drive, Wan Hoo style triangle front armor to deflect HS, feeders aren't on hinges so they're gonna be useless, but to quote a Brazzers pornstar, "**** it"

showcase reanimation, have to relearn building for Apex lol

Rebuild of Deathwheel that'd probably need a proper skin, and wedges that actually wedge:

Red Sun: double disc vert with 2 perm 132, but wedges suck

rebuild of Memento Mori, now with a dual perm

sounds neat, adding RWRA2 features to a DSL base would fix the problem RWRA2 had for many people being that building was way inferior than in DS

seems the hype died down a bit or something, anyway, sportsman division is a pretty neat idea, sportsman GTM comps should be a thing

round robin is an interesting format, sure works better in games than in real life *cough*Robot Wars Reboot*cough*

any updates on the modded version you guys are working on ? (sorry if it sounds insistent, i'm just really looking forward to be able to use it

not really seeing why people wouldn't allow this thing, and yeah, dual Storm bursts is a really good setup for front hinged flipper, Soundwave 2 uses that and it's really strong

suprising choice of drive considering how huge and bulky E-Tek Drive gearboxes are, but you sure seem to make it work, i wonder if you could BFE the wheels inwards so the axle doesn't poke out as much, but i guess the axle would start poking out the rim due to how Taz wheels are shaped.

how good does it handle spinners ? that shallow wedge and lower steel wedge seem like a HS's nightmare
