No, I will do the 12 as intended - rules are rules and I don't WANT to kick bots out, I just don't want to run a big tournament.

5 and a quarter hours to go, 3 entries and we're full, any more and we enter the randomizer phase. At this point I think it's fair to say it's a pretty damn good chance you'll get in if you enter to be honest, seem as though all the people that said they'd enter haven't :P Probably around 80-100% depending on how many more I get in the next few hours.

dsl standard is ruined by a stupid thing called the wedge and without who you CAN'T build a sucessful robot

I would very much argue otherwise.

Anyway, eh, it's IRL enough if it does get chosen by the randomizer. (without knowing the insides, that is)

It's true. Even the horse thread can go into TV, Movies and Music (I like the new rename by the way).

Indeed, thanks for the good work, I can imagine you didn't really fancy taking it on, on top of everything else, but needs must I guess.

It begins..
Just under 24 hours to get your entry to me, everyone. Remember, the randomizer will pick who plays, so everyone who enters has a fair chance of being in the tournament! (Apart from ty4er who has a guaranteed place from winning RIP3)

Wow, they really do look amazing. I was gonna mention a few that really 'caught my eye', then I realised there really was too many to list, I might as well just say they all look awesome.

From what I can gather, Jamin's trying to say why should there be punishments.
But I kind've understand from the Admin team perspective, as any kid can access this site, then it's just 2 minutes before angry parents end up all over the site, and it does make the place look nicer/kinder/cleaner from an outside perspective.

Funnily enough I was looking at that earlier and thinking how cool it'd be if someone tried it.

Didn't even think about that - yes they are, as long as they are their own component (eg don't overwrite the default DSL skins) :D

Oh but of course I will be checking for stat changes if anyone tries that ;)

Trov/ACAMS, is there not a filter plugin you could use for censoring/removing profanities? Or would they filter the entire forum including the Junkyard?

Discussion / Re: DSL AI Mega-pack
« on: June 21, 2013, 02:12:30 PM »
I don't think everything should be lumped into 1 pack, personally.

1) It'd be ridiculous to navigate in game
2) Personally I think IRL and DSL Standard should be kept separate from each other. That would help reduce the size of the packs and also keep the divide I feel is necessary, otherwise people start building even more IRL bots that blur the lines, etc.
3) How many people would download it? Make sure you ask yourself this, as so many packs are made and then downloaded by very few, perhaps even none - is it worth the investment of your time.

Good luck on your endeavors with this, let me know if you do want anything like RIPAI or PokAImon.

Yep. Means you gotta make sure you're entering something properly IRL.

It's not going to be a case of 'acceptance', if your bot isn't accepted then the spot given by the randomizer will be given randomly to someone who lost out.

My question is how can you improve it without just putting armour all over it? I mean it wouldn't have the real-life reliability issues in RA2.
