This is the first IRL tournament I've seen that doesn't allow skinned components.  Interesting.

For months now, I've been thinking about hosting a tournament which is more lenient when it comes to what cb2 components it allows, along w/ other differences from other rulesets in component restrictions in order to be different from the rest.  As a result, EBR was conceived.

ebr logo new.png

Although they are legal, you are not required to use any cb2 components if you don't want to, and are allowed to enter bots that would be legal for other tournaments.  All events will follow the ruleset of the main competition, which is linked below this paragraph, w/ any variations mentioned in the description.  Arena used will be a reskinned RW reboot arena, unless otherwise stated.

Here's a new way of fighting: by going absolutely insane! XD

Mike Gellatly is jealous of that driving skill seen at the start.

Upgraded Totally a Thwackbot to be more effective in battle, the aesthetics aren't quite finished tho.

I've made the custom components and chassis skins available to download, so anyone who wanted to use any of them on a bot can, whether it be a bot for private use or for tournaments.

I like the idea behind Slam and Slem (and also the Re:Zero reference), but I think they'd look nicer if the dustpans were wider, and extended all the way to the edge of the wheelguards. Dunno whether you'd be able to find the weight to be able to do that without making them more fragile, though.
I think what I'll do is give them a run out in a tournament, then see what I can do w/ the width of the dustpans.

Here's some bots I've built so far this year.

I decided to play around w/ cb2 (the only cb2 parts I ended up using being motors) and created Night Fiend.  I initially intended for it to look like some mutant insect monster, but it kinda just ended up being W I D 3 B O I w/ a saw blade and an overall wtf appearance.

And I've also built (either from scratch, completing after starting last year or upgrading bots that I intended to enter into MM3 but never AI'd and submitted) some bots that are legal for tournaments.  These are all complete except for skinning some parts.

Last year, I tried making a LW drum w/ sledgehammers, and did a bad job.  Tried to make a better one this year, failed, so just made a wedge for a LW, still same family as the hammer drums tho, No Hammers All Beans.  Slimbodies for drive so its faster than the hammer drums I built.

These two you can see the original completed versions in the OP, they are the hammer clusterbot Slem and Slam.  What I've done is move the side supports for the dustpans so that they're no longer a disadvantage for them in wedge battles, and put armour plates in front of the wheels so its harder for opponents to get caught on them and make the bot spin when firing the hammer.  They have the drive power to flip a MW over by ramming them into a wall.

And last of all, a SHW horizontal spinner that I started months ago, but only now have I got it to completion (except skinned armour and wheels) as I have plans to enter it into a tournament, Tohru.  The weapon is her strongest point being highly destructive, but her low ground clearance is a weakness as it makes it vulnerable to getting high-centred.  She could be the bad girl of the SHW division, but we'll have to wait and see how she performs in tournaments before being certain.

If I entered a bot as half of a HW clusterbot, would I also be able to enter it to the MW division on its own?

I have 2 HWs, a SHW, a CW, a MW and a LW planned for entry.

I built a hammer saw w/ a beta and a perm.  One of them will need to be go in order to make the bot legal for IRL.

Yo, tiny updates given I have 0 things to do atm.

Making progress on the new ant, revision 1 of the chassis complete for a geometry test. Just waiting for some other parts to arrive (servos, wheels and some other pieces). Stole some design choices from Yeatus & Retreatus like the rolled back being the main point. With ABS it's about 40g, but that's with 100% infill from the looks of it. Once I've done this part, I'll be looking to make the flipper panel. Had some ideas for fitting it, but we'll see how it pans out.

Parts have been showing up.
Receivers
Switches
9 Batteries

Still waiting for ESCs, Wheels and Servos
Yeetus but it can actually yeet opponents.

Where does the ai fail? Does the battle start? Can the robot drive around fine?

If the robot can drive around but the weapon doesn't fire then its probably a StartAngle issue, i.e. try all of the different start angles from -2pi to 2pi in increments of 0.5pi (if you've been reading other threads though I'm guessing you've already tried that). I would investigate it myself but I don't know how weapon skins work. I don't see anything else wrong in the binding. Anyway, good luck.
I have the drive working fine, but when the fight starts it retracts the weapon and never uses it.  I've added a motorID and tried a few startangles, maybe I should try going the full range when I find the time.

I've tried getting this bot's AI to work in so many different ways, such as following instructions at told in discord servers, looking at other judge AI bots and how ppl made the AI work in other threads, but I can't get it to work.

Bot's AI:
Code: [Select]
    list.append(("Ice Pick","Judge",{'invertible':True,'nose':math.pi*1,'StartAngle':+math.pi/2,'MotorID':6,'reload':4,'range':99,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':3,'weapons':(13,)}))
Bot file:
Skinned part:

If anyone could help getting it to work that'd be appreciated.

Still lacking battery power, had to ditch the srimech to not look OTT boxy.

Then this happened.  Now ik not to box rush spinners w/ this bot bc it doesn't react well to taking hits.

While having a hard time AIing Ice Pick, I wondered what a crusher using a Beta would be like.  This led to the creation of Your Lover.

your lover.png

Improvements I can see being made are increasing the amount of battery power, fixing the srimech to clip through the floor less often, changing the wedgelets to non-damaging and maybe tidying the armour up in some places.
