You also need to put the d2pack.cfz file into your Robot Arena 2 directory - the best way to do all this, as the readme suggests, is to extract the entire file straight to C:/Program Files (x86)/Robot Arena 2: Design and Destroy/. No moving around, just grab the .rar and extract to that location. It may come up with a merge warning or something, but that's all fine.

What pack are you using? Any other details would also be appreciated.

Yeah, I was gonna vote for 1 but 3 made me laugh.

Also ACAMS is the poll intended to have visible results? I thought it usually doesn't show?

As I said, if you're extracting a folder called Components from the rar into the main Components, I'd recommend extracting the folder to your desktop, and then moving everything inside the folder that you extracted from the rar into the main Components file - putting a folder called Components into Components will not work, they need to 'merge'.

It depends what file you are putting into your Components folder.
1) Are you extracting it, if the pack is a .zip or .rar?
2) If the file you're putting in Components is labelled 'Components' have you tried moving the contents of that file into the main Components folder?

pfft I have 4x that on CSGO in the past year alone, 250 days isn't much over 4 years.

4x 250 days in the last year. 1000 days in the last 365 days, I'm glad you found some flaws in your calculations :P

There was an Australian TV for kids show called "Around the Twist."  In one episode a kid swallows a Whirling Derfish that makes his... anatomy spin like a propeller.  And well, just see for yourself because you wouldn't believe me if I described it.  What the ****, Australia?  NFSW AND DISTURBING

I actually remember that show being on kids TV in the UK too. I hated it, it sucked, but that... is just weird.

I dunno - I'm also one of those people that slates the constant strive for improved graphics when it's not graphics that make a game. Hell, I'd much rather play Pac-Man or Tetris than Ride to Hell: Retribution.
That's because RTH is the worst game ever made, nothing to do with the graphics.

And as expected you completely missed the point. RTH being the 'worst game ever made' only backs my point up - enhanced graphics do not make a better game.
Does that game have better graphics than Tetris or Pacman? Yes.
It is a better game than Tetris or Pacman? No.
Thus does better graphics mean a game is better? No. Stop being an idiot.

No.
1) my parent's can't spend a lot on me.
2) I know I wouldn't use the 3D so it'd be wasted money.

Also, 3DS-wise, I'd like to get Pokemon X/Y, MK7, Animal Crossing, and the Smash Bros game next year. That's without looking at 3rd party stuff.

Finally, I must post this. It is so very apt. Beware it has swears and stuff.

I don't want to pay as much as they want for a 3DS and I wouldn't use the 3D feature... I wish they'd fill my niche... OH WAIT. I'm actually happy about this. The design looks different and interesting - probably designed to take on tablets.a
DS
DS Lite
DSi
DSi XLs.

Unless you're desperate for Mario Kart 7 or Pokemon X/Y, this thing is pretty useless. Better off getting a used (But in perfect condition) DS Lite for less than half the price. For that, you can play GBA games (Proper pokemon, etc.) and you get the screen-protecting clamshell design. Oh, and it doesn't look hideous

Lol, I thought I was implying I wanted to play 3DS games. I have a GBA and a DS and a GBA emulator on my phone. I'm pretty sure I can play GBA/DS games. Besides, if you're gonna go the 'Proper Pokemon' route let's go play Red/Green/Blue kay? I had a feeling I'd be seeing idiotic responses...

The market they're kinda aiming for isn't one where 'kids' can buy it. I mean really, if any kid up to like 10 seriously had that kinda money... XD They're aiming for the parents who want to spend a little less on getting their 300 kids a 3DS. Besides the 3D removal isn't the be-all and end-all, so it's hardly a 'BEST THEY CAN GET' situation. They still get to play the new games. Also like I said some people want to spend less and wouldn't use the 3D anyway.

This is a complaint. Not a whine.

Whining: When you keep fussing about something when you can obviously fix it

Complain: Alerting authorities or people of higher ranking than you of an error that you cannot fix yourself

Chris' spam is slowing the site down. And it's not within our power to remove said images as well.

A complaint would be in writing to Trov. A thread like this in this location is designed so that the WHOLE forum can see it.

Besides if there is a load of posts containing the same linked image in 1 thread... you only have to load that image once. Right?

Tournament Archives / Re: Around the World 2

Stock MW (you should know what stock means)

GENERAL RULES
-No BFE, AAM, Hax Mode, cheatbot2, Thyrus Glitch, Text Editing... etc
-Any and every non-cheatbot2 component included with the 1.4 version of stock is 100% legal, this includes the 140cm extenders, all AI parts, and the snapper II
-Your bot must have 2 (or more) powered wheels and show some sort of controlled movement (i will be testing for this)
-Failing the controlled movement test will result in your current entry being rejected, you must replace your entry after with something more stable/controlled.
-All robots must fall within a 10kg range of the weight limit (388.9-398.9 or 399 if the game still displays it as a mw)
-Smartzones do not count as weight if it pushes your robot above the weight limit.
-Once accepted, you are allowed to update/change your entry ONCE and only ONCE.
-Any obvious attempts to counteract or otherwise exploit a loophole in the rules will be automatically DQ'd.
-All of the bots entered will become a part in ASAI. As such, I would PREFER if you sent in a quality bot, but I will not stop you from sending what you please.
-Jokebots will be shot on sight however.
HAVOK RULES:
-Occasional, minor havok is counted as controlled movement as long as it is not constant (i.e. you cannot turn without going airborne).
-If your bot is suspected of causing a game-altering havok, it will get a strike (indicated by a X in the corner of the video)
-"Game altering havoks" count as: flipping any bot upside down or OOTA, crashing the game, or generally any havok that majorly changes the outcome of the match.
-After this strike, any further game altering havoks during the match will result in losing 1 match (automatic 3rd place in round 1) for each havok.

-There will be a maximum of 24 entries. (4 AI teams of 6)
-My entry will be Tinsilation*
(Image removed from quote.)
(Image removed from quote.)
-I will only enter if there are leftover spaces after signups have closed.
-If there are still empty spots after I enter the rest of the spots will be filled with a byebot. (hint: its a mw version of flip test dummy)

-The arena will be RANDOMLY SELECTED EVERY MATCH (with hazards on). Some arenas will be excluded (such as the ant late-night rumble, the race course ring arena, etc), but some that are included will require more mobility to traverse them than others (such as the bridge of doom or the black hole space arena), this means that you will have to balance the weight put into weapons and weight into mobility.
-The list of arenas is:
(note: Epic Showdown will be used in the finals)
-Each match will last a maximum of 2 minutes.

--The brackets will go something like this:
-Round 1 will have 8 heats of 3 bots (single matches), the winner of each match will go to a winners bracket, the runner up to a losers bracket, and last place eliminated immediately.
-In round 2, bots in the winners bracket will face bots in the winners bracket (same with losers) in 4 battles of 2, and it will operate like a basic double elimination tourney (with best 2 out of 3 matches) from there until the finals.
-Finals will be 1 v 1, best 3 out of 5 the final match will be a single best 3/5 match, basic double elimination rules do NOT apply in the finals.
-Venko is allowed to enter 2 bots for winning Around the World 1
-Venko, Badnik96, Ianh05, and 090901 all have 1 automatic entry reserved for placing in the top 4 in Around The World 1

Should you do well in this tourney, they will receive:
The final 8 will be in a after-tourney rumble. The winner of a rumble will get a few exclusive decals (yippee...?) and the glory of winning.
The runner up will get all of the robots entered in the tourney+the AI to look at and mess with in addition to the previous prize.
The winner will get 2 entries in the next Around the World (only one spot will be reserved however) in addition to the previous prizes.

There will be a DSL LW portion to the tourney as well.
The rules are exactly the same, rotating arenas and all, EXCEPT
-Stock AI parts are not allowed as they are not included in DSL. Use only vainilla DSL components.
-All bots must adhere to dsl standard realism.
-All bots must also fall within a 10kg range of the weight limit (238.9-248.9)
-My entry to this section of the tourney will be EBN2
(Image removed from quote.)
-Any reserved spots earned from this will be for any future DSL portions and NOT the main stock portion.
-These bots will not be included in ASAI for obvious reasons.

This is now a signups topic!
The rules cannot change, and you have a year from today to complete your tournament. :)

I'll try to keep this short and as unlike a cheesy acceptance speech as I can, because I'm pretty sure I've already done that to Trov and the Staff.

Just want to say I will really be doing my absolute best to keep the section up together, as well as help out any of you in need, if you just need to double check something with me or you need a hand learning to AI give me a shout and I'll do my best.
Also, I'd like to say a quick thank you to Trov - the others considered for the role were probably at least as good for the role as me but might not have been around as long or had as much experience with tourneys - you guys probably know who you are, your day will come. :)

Yeah, high HP so it can be externally mounted... in Standard DSL2.1, the way you claim to not play. How many HP does a motor that size have in real life? I mean I could be completely incorrect but surely it'd end up being quite expensive putting a motor in that situation...

I don't think using a burst motor is realistic in this situation, it would be bad for a saw to move that fast, I'd imagine - it could shatter, and without slow movement it couldn't have time to cut into anything. There's a reason Dead Metal's blade went very slowly.
Also, motors sticking out of the back? That is definitely NOT IRL in my opinion. Also, motor protection for the Piglet? Not practical.
