Tournament Archives / Re: Forced Creativity Challenge« on: January 27, 2017, 05:30:23 PM »>trying to make a sick burnWho are you quoting? Besides, IRL has more viable robot types, like ring spinners, FBS'es HS'es, VS'es, Drums, flippers...Most of those are still just HS (RS, FBS [idk what definition of "FBS" you're using here, but I'm assuming you mean shell spinners], HS) and gutrippers (most VS that aren't nightmare clones, drums). Flippers are only viable in arenas with lower walls, which are massively over-represented in tournaments. Speaking of over-representation, the whole reason why self-aware tournaments like Dead Meta Derby and ironyforgy tournament have been cropping up are because there's so many IRL tournaments, causing creativity to decline until there's the same few designs in every tournament. inb4 "DURRHURR U ENTER SAME ROBBIT LAWL XDXDXDXDXD"Just because you INB4 it doesn't mean I was going to say it. You seem to be pretty unhinged too, judging by the amount of 4chan-reject meme rage you put in your post. 363

Modifications / Re: RA2: Retooled« on: January 23, 2017, 12:31:58 AM »
I wanted to post this on the 20th, but I wasn't able to:
![]() Border-Wall Arena. Has both a yuge wall and the Pence Fencetm. Originally, I was going to have the hazard for this arena be a wall that gets 10 FEET HIGHER as the match progresses, but it seems RA2 has trouble with upwards-facing pneumatic hazards. I'll just have to think of something else to throw in there. Combat Zone updated to be more tourney-friendly: ![]() I've gotten rid of the typical spikes and saw hazards that I've seen people use in tourneys exactly 0 times. They have been replaced with flippers in each of the 4 corners. ![]() They operate on the same code as the hellraisers in the octagon arena, which I'm half-considering updating so that it doesn't fling LWs into space and barely lift SHWs, we'll see. The hazard stripe skin is most likely temporary until I figure out what else to put on it. I also have a version of the combat zone without any hazards at all, it will be reskinned though so people don't go "why are there 2 combat zones???" I plan on including 4 more teams in the next release, here's a small sample of the robots: ![]() ![]() Almost all of the robots have been built, but some of them either need wonky obscure AI .py's or completely new AI .py's. Lastly, it's come to my attention that sli.mg (which I've been using to host my images) has gone down. I've replaced the last page's worth of posts with imgur links and will get around to replacing the rest later. 367

Fairly sure I prodded you a few times on the discord to get GTMC rolling, hope you didn't take any of it the wrong way and/or put me on your sh**-list.
Oh yeah, I will relinquish full main host duties of GTMCS to RedAce following writing this up.Just an FYI though, Thrackerzod's been going through and steamrolling through the tourney for you. 376

If you're going for unrealistic, you might as well go the full 9 yards and make it invertible. Angling the tank treads would accomplish just that.

Now you're just grasping at straws.I know full well that Gaming Grandpa is more on the DSL-S side, but is this coming from the same guy who's best known for entering the same Tombclone design into every other tourney? BTW, giving it something along the lines of 2 or 4 heavier weapons would actually make it more effective, due to how DSL's balancing rewards heavy weapons/normals weapons with higher efficiency. 379
