Use FlameOmni from NarAI

Its just omni with the spin section duplicated to allow a tweaked number to be used to fix the flamethrower range problem AI tends to have, so everything else is as per normal.. 



Just wire your flamethrower on a positive analog as "Flame"


In theory you can use Omni with a flamethrower as "spin" but the range fires less then it should..

Also doesnt get jammed or stuck, just impacts.. one of the real robots magazines went into detail about it with Hypnodisc as it was one of the first (if not the first) to use blunt kinetic weapons


In other news, guess who just built a robot in RA2 for the first time in a year :O

if you want to mod, learn txt editing..


if you want to make new stuff, learn 3DSM after you learn txt editing as you need to manually make parts of the GMF file in Max



There is just steps you must take.. no shortcutting in the modding world im afraid


In all honesty, most of the time I make the shapes in 3DSM, export them and then manually put components together in notepad.. its easier in many cases..


However if your really keen of messing with something in 3DSM, there is a sample pack in the downloads section of some RA2 stuff as max files but make sure you get all the plugins for the program first..

eh?  FSSes doesn't always havok when one of their flails gets ripped off.(plus, it'll be really cool when the flames from the flamethrower flail in the wind)


They sure as heck do if your suggesting putting flamethrowers on them.. in fact just a touch can cause a havok, fail flamers are much safer (but still havoky) on SnS robots
