I must admit I did slightly doubt myself when I wrote that, seemingly for good reason, but I have no doubt that Badnik won't finish this, so everyone just needs to chill :)
Often the pressure put on by other people can make spending a lot of time on it even less appealing.

All I'm going to say is please just calm it down, Badnik has never failed to complete a tournament, and he has run enough to be given the privileges that come with being a Major League host.

So I was messing around with tournament concepts in my head, and then I remembered there was a TV show with a similar premise, so I took the title.

RULES
Game - DSL 2.1
Weight - Middleweight
Realistic Rule - IRL Realistic
TWO ROBOTS per entrant is required.
16 entrants, so 32 robots. (See battle rules.)
If you can't AI, I will AI for you, just don't get whingey if your robot doesn't win.
You can't enter until I have received and accepted your robot.

BUILDING RULES
Middleweight class robots only. 249.0kg - 399.0kg
Only in game glitches are allowed -  eFFe Glitching, Axle Loading and Snapper Loading.
No external editing at all - BFE, AAM and so on.
Must have at least 2 wheels for controlled movement.
Tracked robots are eligible, the weight cushion is - The actual treads only count for half their real weight.
No scuttlers, crawlers or walkers.
Multibots are banned for obvious reasons.
No unrealistic weapon sizes and quantities.
You can upgrade your robot or send a new one as often as you like until signups end.
Judge Bursts and MOE motors are the only non-wheel Cheatbot2 components allowed. All wheels allowed.
One Judge Burst per bot.

BATTLE RULES
3 minute fights.
Official Robot Arena 2 Tournament arena, I might reskin it again.
Hazards on.
If a robot havoks then I will restart the match. I will keep restarting until there is a havok-free match. Fights with havoks will not be shown.

Arena

Round One - 32 robots from 16 entrants are put into completely randomised teams. Two teams will be pitted against each other and the two robots from the winning team move on to Round Two. There will be 8 battles with 4 robots in each.
Round Two - 16 robots are now left and are taken away from their first round partner and given another randomised one. The 8 new teams will compete in 4 battles, the winning team go through.
Round Three - 8 robots left and teams are randomised again. 2 battles with 2 teams, winning 2 teams advance.
Grand Final - Only 4 robots are left now, teams are randomised again and the winning team are declared overall champions.

Judging will be done by me.
Each team will be given a mark out of 10 for Style, Control, Damage, Aggression, and Teamwork, so a maximum of 50 points in total for each team.

Entries look interesting - my hopes are high :)

I must say though, on the topic of IRL bots, that it's a shame because people would enter Standard bots, but didn't get given the chance. Think about that, guys that entered an IRL bot - you know full well you won't win, you just took someone else's spot when we hardly get any Standard tournaments now.

Thank you DeineMutter for running this, I can't wait to see the outcome - just don't take any of this controversy to heart :)
