Qualifying should be interesting, in my view, how's it going to work?

www.youtube.com/robotwarsextreme

 :gawe:

its just a bit of extra unique entertainment rather then shoving all entrants into random.org, the faster robots gain a bye round for there efforts.

I felt CC3 was lacking (ahem.. not to mention confusing for some)... after that best/ funniest thread with everyone mentioning CC2 got me thinking I should just stick with what works

why change what people like?

(same philosophy for Backlash, im getting sick of people being picky when really all they do it for is because they like things the way they are  :gawe: )

still on the topic of CC2

Red's epic flipping of LiNcK oota
R0B0 doing a triple somersault oota
MikeNCR ripping apart his opponent then a piece flying into the pit release button while he was on top
Click oota'ing Haz by smashing it hard enough into the pit cover
Super SnS hitting Monster Cube so hard it AGOD'd the drive axle and made it havok oota

the list goes on  :gawe:

I was going to enter Typhoon Twins (built off a smartzone so its not a multibot ) but you cant use AI parts except for motors (thus outlawing the shell)

Im tempted to try this with a SOW AI

I get a weight bonus too... I will take all I can get to combat the judge burst users :P

you know I dont understand some of your people sometimes :P

Opinion on the original topic..

DSL was built for what you are wanting... realistic building.

DSL has a good percentage of stock parts already.

Play DSL if you want to build realistic, stock if you want no limit except parts amount (in comparison to DSL)

Self Promotion Opinion on the original topic...

Backlash has realistic building.

and a larger percentage of stock parts then DSL (I think?...)

new variants of your old favorites.

(now I just need to get off my lazy ass and finish the damn thing)

that is not gymkhana, that is free style drifting.

some call it Gymkhana, some call it Freestyle.. I personally call it awesome...

Though I remember reading somewhere Ken Block saying what it actually was but cannot recall what...

They apparently still get monies from it

Hell we can all put in and buy the thing, they will probably make more money then what they have in the last year "selling" it.

66% of the RA2 playing members come for DSL anyway....

Rules:
1. DSL Heavyweights (+ One DSL Lightweight)
2. Enforced realistic rules apply, only bot types seen IRL are allowed (no popups, jugglers, flail shell spinner ect.), this does not stop you from making a tiny chasis with a few ants & a control board in & everything else externally mounted however.
3. No cheatbot2 or custom components.
4. Crawlers NOT allowed
5. Multibots NOT allowed
6. Please AI your own bots or get someone else in your team to AI. If not, I can AI but all I will guarantee is that your bot moves towards the other team & uses its weapons.
7. Usual havok rules apply, one havok - restart, another havok - forfiet.
8. All building must be done in the bot lab. No BFE or AAM or anything like that.
9. All matches will last for one minute.
10. Not best out of 3 matches ect. 5 matches in each heat, one of each, no second chances!
