Not getting that. Their earlier stuff was much more along the classic punk vibe, but their newer stuff (especially their last two albums) doesn't carry the same sort of aggression or simply "fun" as older releases for me.

2 of those aren't really metal (tool is close, QOTSA isn't) imo. They may sound fairly similar and use the same instruments but really they have their own unique features.

I've personally found only one album that hit no.1 in recent years to be any good, and that was Iron Maidens "The Final Frotier". Went no.1 in 7 countries and was still kick ass. Same for me and metal. It all sounds the same to me.
Meh, metal grew on me once I started listening to it enough. Naturally there's a huge difference between Iron Maiden and say, Edge Of Sanity, although I like both.

Some pop music is good.
I personally think that it sucks these days, as the lyrics almost always have similar themes and there's no longer any sort of instrumental focus. Add to that an utter lack of experimentation which you can find in electronic and rock music and it's an instant turn-off for me.

As much as you guys may not like him, in my opinion you're being slightly hypocritical - saying you don't attack him when there's a good page and a half of this thread flaming him.
It may be an idea to leave it out, this is about the challenge, not people disliking him, and even if he has caused trouble or whatever, this conversation is perhaps not the best way to stop him from being angry at you/us and hence causing issues.
IMO.
YES But I agree. I'd like to challenge him, but trolling is stupid if your trying to show him up. Save it for the trolling thread.
