Thanks everyone :)
Mind posting up the reskin of the minion wedge?
Here's the skin for the minion wedge:
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/0743minionflip - texture + gmf.zip
I've also packaged an edited gmf file of the minion flipper, which lines up the collision mesh of the wedge with the display mesh a little better, as you can see in this comparison picture:

You can use it if you want to make the flipper work a little better on your own bots.

Depends. Is it meant to be IRL or Standard? If it's IRL, then it's pretty sweet looking already. If it's Standard, then do what Naryar says.

It's meant to be IRL.

Then it's fine. No need to move the spikes.

No. They serve no purpose.

People don't put spikes on their bot IRL just because it's cool. They put them so they serve as wedges/stoppers/ramming weapons/protection.

Hence why sylandro should do that.
I half agree with you here. People do put spikes on their robots for decoration, obvious example being Kronic, but in RA2 we don't have special spikes just for decor that don't do damage or weigh very little or whatever, so we have to make do with using proper weapon spikes for decoration.
On the other hand the spikes really don't add that much to the look of the robot here imo, so I would still move them to the front to stop them being useless, or give the robot a better skin + overall theme that would better justify the spikes.

Since Global Event was so similar to Ripper, I may as well make an evo version too:

Slightly different angle:

Why are the side hammers angled like that?
I think it's to get over HS better, and take out the weapon motors without hitting the weapons. Whatever it is, the bot is still very cool.

That rumble final was pretty awesome, especially the first hit of the match. Really enjoyed this tournament overall too.

I like them both a lot. Nice use of replica parts on both too.

sonny my AI works fine i just cant use more than one AI other than that it pretty much fine. and also i dont have DSL convertion. Everything works fine before i tried to use the AI bots in the robot designs.
i replaced all the AI bots anyway so it should work fine.
K Den.
Do this:
1) get a fresh version of DSL2.1
2) Copy Wham's RW pack content over the fresh DSL2.1
3) Check and see if that works.
DSL 2 is available in the Downloads section in case you didn't know. If you have any more trouble, pm me or post on here.
Jaydee, I'm 99% sure Wham's Robot Wars AI pack needs to be installed over DSL3, not DSL2.1
A fresh install is still a good idea, but here are the proper instructions:
First install a fresh, Stock RA2: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=4
Then install DSL 3 from here over Stock: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/files/DSL3beta1.rar
Then install Wham's AI pack over that.

So you're using Wham's Robot Wars AI pack for DSL 3, right? Are you only trying to use the replica robots, or the other AI robots?
Your problem might be that the AI robots in slot 0 and 1 are just placeholder AI, and will crash the game because they don't have the right components to work.

He does montage parodies on youtube. He probably doesn't use GTM, but you never know.

Considering this is my first proper contribution to the game, I'm pretty pleased with it.
And so you should be, it's fantastic :)

Inspired by TBD's tanks I had my own go at one:

Back:

With top flamers firing:

Both the side cannons and top cannons can rotate. The uneven sizes of the extenders were quite difficult to work with, since I was more used to DSL 3 extenders, but eventually I got it looking alright.

Another robot that will easily beat my entry :P Looks really good to me

Huh. Works fine for me, and I checked the file I uploaded - it is the right file, it should work. Are you sure you installed it in the right place? It should be in the 'Arenas' folder, and you should have overwritten the existing file.

Edit: if anyone else has the time, can you check that it works for you as well. I know it works fine for me, and when I look at the file I uploaded it should definitely work, but better safe than sorry.
i placed it in the arena and deleted the old one, let me try again

ITS WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     :claping :claping  You guys rock!
Great! I was getting worried I'd screwed something up. Glad I could help.

It's like a hammerhead shark of fisting... it's awesome

317
Nope, it's definitely the DSL 2 one. Maybe you installed it wrong somehow?
And what do you mean by doesn't work? Does it crash the game, or does the dropzone still turn on or something?

Definitely entering this one. I made a 'The Boxer' themed popup with fists a while back, I'll dig that out and enter it. It won't win, but it will be fun.

319
i used the standard DSL RW arena, thanks for helping guys, you're a real help
Awesome, that makes this very easy. Here's the modified .py, which you need to put in your 'Arenas' folder. (that is, assuming the attachment worked :S)

Double post, because I have now successfully disabled both the flipper and the dropzone :)
Just to check, are you using the default DSL Robot Wars arena, or another one like Wham's for example? The process should be the same for either but I used the default DSL one.
