Um, hi, I think.
I spent lots of time on this.
I am not skilled Stock man.

Added an interest poll to see if this concept would actually be worth it.

Looks better, although the weapon durability worries me. You might be able to upgrade those small beaters to medium if you do what Shield said.

Not too bad at all. It's maybe worth shrinking the chassis down a bit further and compacting everything as much as possible to get either more weaponry or better armour as the armour you have is pretty weak.

Sylandro, if you continue to post bad threads/topics, people are still gonna hate you.

What are you talking about? He posted a bot in his showcase. There is no bad thread/topic, so please don't flame.

Looks overwhelmingly average. I mean it's an okay build apart from no invertability but... well, people say DSL-S bots all look the same... there's been hundreds of these.

I'm very much with Helloface on this one, always have. I mean you think bots like Diotoir, Granny's Revenge, Mighty Mouse etc were entered with the intention of winning? I'm 90% sure most bots were made and entered for the fun of it, because at the end of the day you'll always end up coming up against a Chaos 2, Hypnodisc or Razer (for example) which are obviously just better engineered.
IRL is a fun time to make something fun and nice looking. If you want to make a killer bot play Standard. That's my opinion anyway.

But you said you don't like artbots at all, when you clearly like IRL? I am too confused for this.

Discussion / Re: Difference between stock and DSL
« on: June 03, 2014, 03:12:15 PM »
Using Stock components that are hidden by default in DSL is considered illegal in tournaments and you wouldn't want to use them anyway - their hitpoints are pitiful in comparison to DSL components. All 3 versions are used here - I mean, I have at least 10 different copies of RA2 with different mods, they all have their upsides.

So you're freely admitting to entering IRL tournaments, where the main goal is to make bots that look true to real life, with the intention of making them as efficient as possible to win? :P Because I think a good IRL bot is an artbot.

Just a few little projects, nothing too gud in my opinion.

I tried a standard MW drum thinking about Trials. Not sure if happy with result. Plastic 3.

A tiny LW drill I was thinking about entering for Father and Son

And, something the Skype guys have seen, a Shell/Side Hammer hybrid. Shell hybrids are pretty tough so I thought it'd be fun to try. It went weirdly. Would be legal for RIP4 as a 617kg Double Hybrid.

i dont like artbots though because they can be designed under the rule of cool
meaning some artbots dont look realistic

Lolwat, you don't like artbots because they look cool?
Besides if an artbot isn't 'realistic' it shouldn't be allowed into 'realistic' tournaments, and is a showcase only type deal.

Yeah I was meant to be up against Ashtray. Oh well. CD4 is as efficient as I'm willing to make an IRL bot so if it sucks, I guess I have a pretty bad grasp of IRL.

Cause, you know, why not?

Tournament Rules:

1. Two bots start off in the King of the Hill match (1:00 minute match) in LumaZone . The goal here is to get more points than your opponent. If there's 24 entries, then 3 bots will compete in the KoTH and the bot with the lowest points will be eliminated.

2. The second part will be on the COMBAT ARENA same as before, damage the trialbot as much as you can, I'll make a MW trialbot. If the bot miraculously beats both bots (which I doubt), the decision will depend on points. This event will be 2 minutes. After this, the points from the KoTH part will be summed up with the points from this trial and the bot with the most points moves on.

3. Then the heat will end up with 2 bots, those 2 will fight it out in the fight to the finish arena (I found it here a while ago) and here's how it works; two bots start high above on the platform and they will fight it out for 3 minutes and the bot that gets destroyed, immobilized, or pushed out will be eliminated and the winner will go to the finals.

4. All four finalists will face off in the KoTH and the bot with the lowest points will be eliminated. If a 2-way tie for last happens then both bots are eliminated and we head to the fight to the finish, if a 3-way tie for last or 4-way tie happens then the trial will start over. If three bots remain, they will face again in the KoTH in the Hill Top this time, but the trialbot will join the others as a distraction. If there's a 2-way tie or 3-way tie for last, the trial will restart. The final two will head of to the fight to the finish and...well I think we already get how that works.

Its a 16 bot tournament and for those curious about my entry:

Don't use MS Paint then? GIMP is always an option :)

2956
Yep, it can be moved whenever you're ready. I'll just double check that you do want it moved before I do, even though I got your PM :P

2957
This is going to be the best pack :')
Also, with regards to Gemini, both methods of making it would be pretty cool really. It'd even be cool if you made 1 bot but they connected very weakly (if at all) so they could break apart but 1 half would be just components and for show as such.

The link is fine, just GTM's coding took the space in the link as the end of the link. Copy the link into your bar instead of clicking.

Has no relevance to RA2 so it didn't belong there in my opinion.
