There have been occasions - myself included - where tournaments haven't been completed until near the end of the period... by which time, the entrants have either moved on or are uninterested in the tournament. Even BattleBots doesn't take a year.

Thinking about reducing Major League Tournament Time to 6 months (for ones that start in the future, not gonna cut it down for current ones :P). What do people think?

Or we should divide IRL in two, in one "artbot building" which describes what I am saying and the other "IRL" (In Real Life) which describe hardliner IRL which tries to get as close as real life designs as possible. The latter category includes replicas.
This is a fair idea. Should push the standards of IRL bots up higher as well rather than the current flurry of sub-DSL-S bots that flood IRL tournaments.

Big fan of the 13 Black one. Very nicely done.

Not even gonna watch my match, Scrapyard ruined it in a Steam message - cheers for that.

I think people reacted like that because IRL is the way you've been building so it seemed odd you didn't know what it was.

You're not the only one, I think the oversaturation will kill it in the end.

Looks nice, but those supports would be dangerously exposed and thin in real life. Almost reminds me of Infernal Contraption.

It does look nice. My only criticism is the distance of the back panel from the chassis, but I guess you gotta have it there if you want to use those panels on the side.

Yeah, realism is my concern here. Do the hammers cut through anything?

Looks nice. I wanna build one but it'd probably just be a klone so I'll hold off for now...

Personally I'm not interested but I know 90% of the forum will be jumping up and down to enter. yug1tom is a trooper for offering to AI - really you should do that yourself if it's your tournament. Also the rules seem slightly contradictory, you say IRL then you say Realistic Rule. Realistic Rule refers to DSL-S. May be worth clearing that one up :)

The weapon motors are baseplate mounted :P It's only the wedges and the plows on the snapper

The wedge is horrific though, doesn't even get under Emergency. Still, might enter it just because.

are those panels flippers or wedges?
Servo-driven forks. Tactic will be very Panic Attack.

^my thoughts exactly Also, might as well post it now the rest of my components have been shipped, my summer project, which is what I will be building :L 1.5kg Beetleweight, relying on my driving skills :P Not seen here is the 2WD (it'll be invertible) or the 15mm HDPE box behind those slanted side-skirts. Thanks to Tweedy for sketching this up for me. I just filled it with the components (to scale, of course).

Well that was an irrelevant and unnecessary point to make in this thread after no sign of Sylandro doing any of that.
