I personally don't like the angle pieces along the top of the flipper, but otherwise I like it. Eyes on the skin are pretty cool as well.

Shouldn't the drills be in the inner section and the razors in the outer section?
I think the idea is to trap robots between the drills so that the razors can so repeated damage as the bot pushes its opponent around.
Looks really good to me.

New robot: Thin Ice

I hadn't built a dustpan bot before, so this is my first attempt.

Okay, so I'm taking note here on all of your recommendations, and I'm left with a few questions:
I have to ask: is the apparent hatred of square extenders purely aesthetic? I downloaded from the Custom Components the Steel Square Extender thinking it might be best choice given its description.
I have chosen the Red Birds for the saved space, since it was my intention to have burst motors for the front and both sides (helpful for battles against multiple robots), but would it be better to just go with the ZTeks regardless?
The N12s I put on because I had completely forgotten which wheels actually were best and those seemed "okay enough"
In Stock RA2 square extenders have the same hitpoints as round ones, but weigh more. If you downloaded a new custom one it might be tougher, though, but if you're just using the vanilla components go for the round extenders.
Red birds are not really powerful enough for heavyweight drive for the most part, so go for HP Zteks whenever possible. You don't really want to be concentrating your weapons anywhere except the front of your robot, because that's where you'll take most of your hits and where you want most of the damage to be done.
N12's are pretty heavy and not especially tough for the weight, shiny hub wheels are the lightest so it's best to go for those. They're also smaller, which is good for ground clearance and wedges.

There are some good hammer robots out there, you might want to look at some of the hammers KOS has made recently. You'll find them in his Stock Showcase. Example:

So there's still a space for this? I'll be able to enter something, if that's the case.

Cheers 090901, that was very helpful. Now most of the arenas have music and the stock music from the menus and botlab have been replaced. I now just need the sound effects and Jonathan's commentary. Possibly even the recordings of that lass in the AOD Botlab if possible. Anyone able to fetch them for me? Thanks guys.
Did you see RoboBowler's post up above, where he said he had them? Did you ask him for them?
If not, I might be able to get them. I do have the game, but I haven't tried looking at the files ever, so I'd have to do some research into that.

And I posted too quickly before you edited, so we're both guilty :P
Now that I've finished tornado's wedge, can anyone tell me another component to work on? I can't remember which other ones have messed up attachment points.

I have edited the original point back in, as per Scrap's suggestion. I'll send it you now that I'm happy it's done, unless you have any other points.

I feel like you should keep the previous attachment point too though, so old bots arent affected.
That's a good point, I'll add that back in now then.

Right, since people liked the idea I'm getting to work on the GMFs to fix attachment points, starting with Tornado's wedge. I've already got the attachment point to face the right way but I'd like to know everyone's opinion on this: Where should the attachment point be, at the top of the wedge, or at the centre of the wedge?
If you can't put multiple APs I would prefer the top.
I didn't think of multiple attachment points... now I feel stupid. Thanks for reminding me I could do that :)

Edit: Tornado wedge is pretty much done! Picture:

The wheelguards are indeed ridiculous, I would ditch them and put your motors inside the chassis if I were you. You'll need to change the chassis shape a bit though. Also, use the blue control board rather than that one save weight.
Good space management in the chassis though. Once you've got rid of the wheelguards you'll probably have more weight for more beaters, especially if you keep the chassis that airtight when you put the motors inside it.
Edit:Grammar and spelling.

This sounds like a really good idea to me.

While we're talking about modifying existing DSL components, maybe we could re-do some of the replica components to fix their attachment points, to make them more useful and easier to build with? Obviously we'd have to make new copies of the components so the replicas still worked, but this would be really useful to anyone who wants to use a tornado wedge, for example, and doesn't want to deal with the off-centre attachment point.
I'm just learning to edit the gmfs myself, so soon I might be able to do this bit, if people think it's a good idea.

Those Tetanus Booster and Shredder replicas look really nice. I'm looking forward to these matches :)
FYI, they're Sonny Resetti's.
I'd guessed that, haha. Lombax looks pretty good as well actually.

Awesome, I was thinking I might start learning Python sometime. Thanks for posting this dude.
I've been studying computing for a year now, but we use Pascal. I didn't know you could do computer science as a GCSE now either, that must be somewhat new.
