Hahaha. I dont get thrash metal. Its just a noise of drum, guitar, and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
It can be pretty good but it definitely isn't the most welcoming genre of metal. And the screams and growls mostly come from metalcore and death metal, overall. And just because it's simplistic and not refined doesn't mean it isn't musical. Try Orion by Metallica.

Or something. Don't really mind if I lose.
Just wait until I've fought The Ounce.

Eh, people... adding "And then I took an arrow to the knee" after a sentence doesn't makes your sentence funny, nor does it makes you cool.
It's just a boring forced meme and herd mentality. "PPL SAY THAT AND ITS FUNNY HURR SO IM GONNA REPEAT IT DURR"
I used to agree with you.
But then I took an arrow to the knee.

I'm Jewish, and I think that's okay. Jews are pretty sane.
Being a Jew must suck on occasion if you live in Israel.
F***ing Muslims....
Religion is stupid. It contradicts logic too many times to be worth paying attention to.
I know being religious promotes morale values, but why can't you do that when you're Atheist?
Plus, many wars are religion-based. Until there is only one religion in the world, religion will have little meaning to me, due to its contradiction of every religion saying that their beliefs are the 'absolute truth'.
Agreed.
Only strict muslims are annoying, I've met plenty of fairly reform muslims and they aren't nearly so sexist as others from the religion.

I wish I was religious, I wouldn't be so scared of death.
Theoretically dying would be undescribable, literally. <expletive> religion. I'll think for myself, thanks very much, instead of listening to an invisible beardy man on a cloud.
If you talk to a imaginary deity that lives in your hairdryer you are considered crazy. If you talk to the imaginary deity that lives in the sky you are considered a christian...
And may he bless you with his noodly apendages...

Is there a song that has an aspect of all the musical styles? If there is then is it any good?
Having too many hybrids is a bit dull IMO. Anyway, my genre preferences as follows are: Thrash/death/black/prog/classic metal Post-Punk (like Sonic Youth, R.E.M.) Prog Rock Classical (particularly baroque as well as some more modern stuff like Steve Reich) Whatever the hell King's X is Experimental Rock Jazz Blues Trip Hop Punk Hard Rock (80s stuff, not mainstream rock) Industrial Rock (Killing Joke) Folk Electronica Techno Some Rap, mostly RUN D.M.C and Public Enemy since they don't suck. Grunge The only genres I actually dislike to a full extent is nu-metal, mainstream hip-hop and dubstep, though the better forms of each don't annoy me too much, and metalcore/deathcore (especially deathcore; "herherherher i haz a 7 string in drop G chuggachugga").

Weird, I've actually started to enjoy classical music; the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner e.t.c...
Somebody please kill me.
Tchaikovsky all the way.
Shostakovitch is where it's really at.

Metal is only has indistinguishable if you aren't used to it, when listening to Devildriver, I used to phase out and just hear it as instrumental when not paying attention, and now I can understand most of the lyrics, but then again, you have bands like Black Label Society which falls under blues metal, as I remember. And not all metal is emo, I'm not sure where this misconception came from. But then again, personal opinion is personal opinion, cannot get my head around people who like modern rap, but to be honest, if they want to listen to songs that have gratuitous swearing (not that aren't metal songs that don't have gratuitous swearing), and stuff to do with pimps, bitches, and hoes, or whatever the **** they are singing about, then they should just go ahead and listen to it, nobody really has a right to stop them, and I doubt that there is anyone that is truly justified in judging other people for their musical tastes. Personally, I enjoy many genres of music, but that is just me.
I would have thought Obscura was a better example for your point about metal that's to your taste.
I like it, at least.
I do like Obscura, their lyrics are really strange and poetic, they are, but I used Devildriver as the example because I actually understand most of their lyrics, although I can understand some Obscura lyrics. And if people want an example of Obscura lyrics, I will go with... Aevum, it is the one that I can understand the most of
Where profound souls shy away from self fulfillment We stroll in silence through this universe Where abysmal pansophy wallows in deepness To enjoy the bliss of a fractional existence
The holiest necessity of inner being is not a law for nature In nature even divine necessity takes on the bleach animosity To keep our inner being free of this contradiction With the irresistible force fore of a terrible necessity once present
Those who are ashamed to start from the earth To climb up from the creature mankind To draw those thoughts that are beyond Earth, fire, water, and air
Void Dimension - as man stands here on earth Void Dimension - as flash of eternity
As man stands here on earth in this life As flash of eternity that enlighten this gloominess Portraying this progeny of their soul as enigma Devoured by its own will, unbounded, inevitable
Wherever one thing reaches into the other Neither of the others can leave Each requires the other But I like a lot of different types of music, and there are some songs that I have no idea why I like them so much. Strangely enough, I have never met somebody who solely likes metal without going into other genres. Somebody at college likes Napalm Death, Devin Townsend, Iced Earth, Behemoth, but then he also likes stuff like Kunt and the Gang, and Clutch.
Awww yeah anyone who likes Napalm Death is cool in my books. Rec him Brutal Truth and Wormrot if you meet him soon.

And I am one who listens to things from the electronic genres. And I listen anything on that part. Gentle and hard. I love it all.
I don't mind decent techno and electronica, as well as trip-hop, but not trance or dubstep, just due to personal preference.

Your ears just need toughening up a little bit. =D If you need some "transition" bands, ones that have both Metal and other, somewhat more popular influences, then perhaps bands such as Linkin Park, Enter Shikari and The Offspring might be a good place to start. With due preparation, you'll end up with bands such as Machine Head, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage.
Considering they're all beginner metal bands, that isn't the best place to draw an ending point. The ending point is pretty much where you start listening to hybrid black-jazz-fusion-post-metal crazy stuff.. Also, for Trent Reznor's sake, can people like The Royal Badger and Ty4er please take note of this: Metal may have intense bands which take a lot of toughening up to listen to, as well as some absolute crap, but that doesn't mean all of them are. Try Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Cynic, Blotted Science, Riot, Psychotic Waltz, and Saxon (WHEEEEELLLLSSS OFFF STEEEELLLLL ) for examples of potentially accessible metal (though probably not BC as they're actual instruments are very chaotic).

DP to save my post for covering the whole screen. Metal Lyrics:
HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhfffffffffffffffffffaRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
And so the screaming continues...
not all metal is screaming. Behold, clean vocals:
Exactly. Also, just because vocals are growled or semi-screamed doesn't mean they sound bad. Gojira and Devin Townsend feature phenomenal but "screamed" vocals.

fixxxed if you add nuclear assault and sodom i will agree.
Never heard NA really And Sodom are mediocre
i hate you now. On another note, (illegally) downloading diablo 1. :D should bring back some fond memories i had with that game..
Sodom really isn't that good bro. Other than Code Red, Remember The Fallen (which is classic and absolutely amazing) and the stuff on their new album they're just not as good as other extreme thrash bands like Sadus, Destruction and (duh duh duh) Demolition Hammer (Epidemic Of Violence ).

Nah, No Limits is easily the best coaster specific game but this is pretty solid for anything else.
