I never learn, do I? MOAR BATTERIES. I'm a sucker for having more power, what can I say? That and the inclusion of not one, but three blacks actually means I can reliably self right. For a change. Ok, so I've been experimenting with discs. After a couple of failed horizontal spinner attempts, I came up with this not very original design. Seems fairly effective though, yet to try it out on a DSL AI though. Made a couple of changes half way through taking screenshots, after realising there was about 200kg worth of ballast at the back to make up for the enormous vertical disc I originally tried to fit. The extra weight gained by removing this allowed for thicker steel armour (it was already pretty tough to begin with) and extensions to the srimech arms. God forbid it ever goes up against a half decent spinner or axe though.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay double post.
I can actually show how they fare in action now, rather than just pictures. :)

try fighting against heavyweight bot that is not replica
If it was a standard DSL bot, your advice would be good, but it's an IRL bot, so...
I would get destroyed. Completely. No contest.

Cheers, guys. :)
Currently uploading something a little different to add to the showcase.

Only 1 ant motor, even for the drum? Surprising.
Is trying to make that arm a srimech a bit of a lost cause? Seems completely the wrong shape. I might just rebuild it to be invertible.

So yeah, if you saw my stock thread, you'll know I don't really go for huge deathmachines with 4 tri-bars and 36 maces to destroy everything it sees in under 30 seconds, but instead opt to try making robots that might actually be feasible 'real-life' competitors. I've been playing around with DSL this morning and came up with spinning drum robot with a rather unoriginal theme. Soon, I shall return. With more. Mwa hahaha. Hahahaha. Ahem.

Oh. I think I'll stick to stock. I can't even flip middleweights effectively, let alone take on custom-made tournament winners.

I have no idea what any of those things are.

I sort of thought C02 might help a flipper. Instead it's just needlessly made it a Heavyweight. Where it struggles to flip anything. Hmm.
Any other mods people would recommend other than DSL 2.1?

Woah. Ok. That's a lot to digest. Cheers for the feedback, guys. I will try and take all the advice on board, but I must admit it's a of a lot to take on for somebody who doesn't know the game all that well. A lot of technical mumbo-jumbo. I'll post a couple more of my first stock attempts now, but from here on out I expect I'll be experimenting with DSL 2.1 and seeing how that turns out. We'll see.

I was told I should make one of these threads. However, I am terrible at this. I mean, really terrible. Considering I go for realism when I design 'bots, and these were made during my first day of playing the game. Alright, so here's the first one. It's all I have time to upload right now. Critical Reaction (yes, I know, it's a shoddy name) has an axe. And a wedge. And some spikes. And not much else. Fairly competent fighter mind, although I expect it would get destroyed by other user's stock bots. The green outline is strange. I don't think RA2 likes me using Steam to take screenshots.
