That was gonna be my BB6 Heavyweight. But I think I'll probably go for something a bit more interesting, and reskin that one for the display tournament. We'll see.

There's already a couple of Robot Wars 'clones' knocking about in my files so one more won't harm (a 259 inspired vertical spinner and a Mace style lifter the main ones I'll be using).

So, Kossokei. You challenged me to create a shell lifter. I FAILED.

It's not IRL, it's completely ineffective in a fight, but whatever.

See if you can have a go at what I was attempting with this.

(yes I did make this in the half hour or so since my last post. Kind of want that half hour back.)

Tried making a front-hinged flipper. Accidently made a Mute clone. LOL WHOOPS.

That HW is boss. Definitely making me reconsider my choice of a front-hinged flipper as my potential entry.

Looks shweeet.  :claping

Cheers guys. The only issue is that Cataclysm will get dominated by wedges. Of which I'm sure there will be a few.

Ha, nice. Thank you.  :thumbup

Still don't see much of the appeal in my designs. But then again, I see them practically every day when I boot up RA2 so maybe I'm just getting bored of them.

ANYWAY, these two aren't for the display tournament, but will hopefully be my first ever entries in a forum tournament (Battlebots 6).

A lightweight with twin discs called Cataclysm, and a mediumweight with horizontal bar spinner thingymabob called The Red Dragon. Bit of Welsh background going in there.  :approve:

(yes, I know they're not going to be competitive, but whatever)

Still completely stumped on what to do for a heavyweight entry, and I've never built a SHW before, and don't know how.

Might take Kossokei up on the challenge of a shell lifter.

Hmm. Never entered anything before, but I feel this may suit me.

I haven't gotten around to learning to AI yet (real life and a lack of real knowledge on the subject is holding me back). Is this going to be an issue?  :rage

Ha, mine's not quite as aesthetically pleasing as NFX's, though. I do want to revisit the drum design and see if I can come up with something a bit more original, but we'll see.

Ooooh, that's an idea. I have built a drum before but it was literally just a blue invertible box.

I'll have a go at that.

(edit: when I wake up later, anyway. Just realised it's 4am. Whoops.)

Aww. It's better than my Steg rep.

Am I stupid for not knowing how to get the wedges to slope off like that?

I picked it up for Xbox. Haven't really had time to play it yet. Sounds very good though, looking forward to it.

Any 'bot types that I haven't tried building yet? Anything anyone would like to see me try for this thing? :-)

I tried making a vertical spinner.

Tested it too. Could have a very strong contender for this display tournament, so I intentionally snuck in a couple of weaknesses to be exploited. :L

Anvil could be a bit of a dark horse for Resetti's War 3, I think.

Science Block showed that simple rammers can be effective, it's invertible, and possibly too low for a lot of spinners.

Good replica.

The reaper parts are from "Component pack D1 and D2", I believe. Not cheatbot2.

The scythe  doesn't even do that much damage. It's aggresive, etc, but lacks a killing blow. As I said before, much like Hellbent.

I don't think anything I've used so far will be 'overpowered' or able to dominate the competition.

no, as long as they arent overpowered

I'm just using Judge Burst and decorative parts, IE Sir K spines, like on...one of the robots I showcased. With the scoop. I dunno.

(edit: judge burst is being used for front hinged flippers. maybe a couple of axes. Wanna keep it balanced.)

Is custom components going to be an issue? I was running out of ideas with the 'stock' ones.

I like the Grim Reaper bot. Lots of personality there.

Funny, because that's actually one of my least favourites! Or at least one of the ones that will definitely change.

Dunno whether it was the color scheme or maybe the fact it's a bit too much like Hellbent.

You're quickly becoming my favourite active IRL builder on this website. Keep it up.

That's actually a serious honour.

I'll try and keep up the standard. :)
Things can only get better as well, if I keep practicing and experimenting. Need to learn how to do custom skins as well, but my editing software knowledge is horrible.
