Fixing matches in that way is also not allowed generally in tournaments, it's just not fair.

To my understanding for quite some time Trov has been working on an exchange that loads the bots into it as a preview. I'm pretty sure you'd have known that, Jonzu.

There is no way it needs to be that huge. Pack your batteries nice and close together - or even 'stack' them - and you'll be able to save a lot of space and therefore weight for stuff like front armour. Also use the round extenders for weapon mounting, you'll save so much weight.

Good to see you back man :)

Yeah, people still build, it's a little quiet right now - possibly because of school - but we're all still going.
For 3D editing, HereticBlue's probably the best to answer that - he's working on a pretty awesome Robot Wars mod (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15064.0).
The main new mod that's been released it 123's Ironforge, which is probably frankly my favourite mod of all time. Check it out here - https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=16805.0.
And here's the link to the DSL3 beta, can't exactly remember how it's installed - over a clean Stock, I think - but yeah. http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/files/DSL3beta1.rar

The builder is still very much involved in the RW community. :)

Good point Nar, why are they all near enough Cruiserweight? Is there an IRL DSL3 Cruiser thing happening?

Surely if you're being given pre-made bots with options to upgrade bits... you'd just upgrade everything? Unless you have plans for weight/currency or something. It's a nice demo though, would be cool to try some of the other bots.

The reason we have only 3 robots is because hardly anyone has helped. Thank you to everyone that has contributed,

Helped? You were sure you wanted to run this tournament given that you thought there was enough interest. If it comes down to it, you'll have to run the tournament with 3 bots.

DSL 2.1 has some excellent RW replicas in it. Wham's Robot Wars 2013 beta was also pretty good.

It is being noticed. I think Jaydee was complimenting you on Mace then asking if - or kinda more making sure - your bots are included.
Stop worrying. :P

antweights  = projectile vomiting
filthy casual
says the guy who can't build anything else than generic irl designs

and no, antweights are indeed boring in building... you have absolutely no weight to build with

Then why not make it beetle weight and call it Beetle-Brawler

You do know RedAce has already run 2 Beetleweight tournaments this year right?
I prefer the Duos idea but I don't know if I'd enter having not built DSL-S in a while, so I'm not gonna vote.

This is all full of good intentions but how many people here do you think are competent at the things you want them to do and would spend a LOT of time on it? As as been said a hundred times, we don't need more topics about RA3, it's just not plausible in my opinion.

Indeed, that's enough irrelevant spam guys.

Mace looks nice, always really liked it, maybe could do with a bit of weathering though?

(Image removed from quote.)

Considering I just finished a tournament, I don't want to rush straight into another but I do want to know what people on this forum most want in a tournament.

This is a discussion thread for now but may be changed into a tournament thread depending on interest.

I am planning on running an Annihilator type tournament where there will be matches of 4 with people going out one by one (you should know what an Annihilator is.) However, I want some input on what to make the tournament. In other words, the forum will make this tournament, I will just be hosting it. These are the things I want your input on:

Let's build this rom the ground up then, judging from votes for each detail.

Rules:
Game type - Stock
Weight class - SHW
Unlimited entrants
1 entry per person
I'll AI if you can't

Building rules:
SHW is up to 1200.0kg
In-game glitches are allowed, apart from hax mode.
Out of game glitches are banned
Cheabot2 is banned
Walker/Crawlers/Shufflers aren't allowed. Multibots can't be used in a 4-way match
You can update you bot as much as you want before signups end close

Match rules:
3 minute matches
Arena will be The Octagon with hazards on
One restart due to a havok, two havoks then the robot causing it will be disqualified
Judging will be done by points scored

Hopefully this gains significant interest. You don't have to cover all bases but it would be cool and would contribute to the discussion if you covered at least one.

This is now a signups thread and the rules above may not change. As a Major League host you have 1 year to complete this tournament. Enjoy :)

You're not really meant to be even starting a discussion topic until the ban is over but then it's you, when have you ever listened to protocol :P
