thats it.....you reallly want this thread locked......
Yep. This is a trainwreck of a thread that wouldn't have lasted even half as long in any other forum I use. But then again, in the other forums I use, it doesn't tend to be the moderator involved in acting like a bit of a douche.

Erm. Stock Showcase (Moderators: infiniteinertia, Pwnator)
But ok, if that's how it is, then I'll stop. No arguments there. I'd like to request that this thread be locked, if at all possible. There's really nothing more that can be said here. I'll keep building some stock machines, see if I can break my IRL habit, and come back to this section of the forum in a while to see if there are improvements.

you're weak...blah blah blah.....I have always been blunt and straight forward. get used to it
I would expect something perhaps a little more courteous from a moderator. I have not claimed that I am being ripped into. I have said that I am mistaken, and that I have interpreted posts in the wrong way. I have apologized and am willing to move on. You, however, are continuing to beat your point into the ground, you refuse to even achknowledge that I'm taking responsibility for my actions and you are starting to become rather obnoxious about it. I do not wish to start degrading into one of your little showcase flame wars that I've seen around from some users and trolls, but your attitude is starting to rile me.

I do rather like the bent axe handle. Using the angle connector probably makes it as flimsy as the real thing too.

I can see numerous points here which need addressing, and I feel I should clarify a few things. ( especially about my gender. I am indeed male, I was just being a bit of a douche.I did indeed take the OK SO...
post as a little bit condescending. Almost like a 'here we go again, time to list off reasons why somebody is wrong' post. I probably took this completely the wrong, and I have apologized for my behaviour. I got a little sucked into what seems to me to be an almost hostile/toxic section of the forums, and overreacted. Sometimes I have seen criticism to be very harsh. A little let down that my apology hasn't even been noted, let alone accepted, however.Stock has never been about IRL soo he's not posting here because of that.
I'm clearly in the wrong place then. I love IRL and strongly dislike the idea of building unrealistic popups and suchlike with maces and razors passing through absolutely everything in the name of competition. Maybe I'm just too naive and new to know any better than a 'showcase' being somewhere to display completed 'exhibits' and suchlike, and not to have half a dozen people who compete and argue over a 10 year old game tell you that you're not using the right battery. I dont know why I bother then...
Because in any other situation, your advice would have been perfectly valid and informative. To any other forum member. Unfortunately, I jumped straight on the defensive, completely needlessly, instead of actually making a constructive post.

It's just frustrating that I thought I'd done stuff right and picked up on points that I've been reading while I was an unregistered lurker for a couple of months.
I apologize.
I thought I'd done stuff right, and I can't get my head around how to integrate these changes. They don't make any sense to me.

OK SO, - I shrunk the AW chassis to as small as I could get it while still being able to fit stuff in there. I literally could not shrink it anymore. - I cannot fit larger batteries in there and still fit the ing control board and drive and literally EVERYTHING ELSE in there, while still keeping the chassis as small as I can get. - I have no idea what stacking is. How the is it feasible to say that I need a smaller chassis, but a larger battery than the one that I'm using? Am I just retarded? Ok guys, sorry this was a bad idea I'mma stick to DSL realistic style bye.

also #2 and #3 are def far cooler than #1
This surprises me, considering #2 is a brown box with a lifter. I suppose the same could be said for #1, only with different adjectives...

Ah, yes, apologies for not including any weights and internal shots. I was in a rush to upload and post before I left for work. Anyway, I've spent the last hour or so taking on board some of the comments and have rebuilt Bolt and Point Blank. Not gonna be fun trying not to stick parts on for show (like the pointy spikes) and not adhering to my beloved realism. Accidently cropped out Point Blank's weight, but it's 247.9.

I'm not sure why SHW always gets less interest. I mean, what's wrong with fast, heavily weaponed, heavily armoured tanks?
just like how real battlebots was, they take more time to build.
My SHW took less time to build than my lightweight. It probably shows.

Right. As soon as I found DSL, I've used it completely exclusively, so I can't rememeber the last time I loaded up some stock to build with. The tournament set up by ianh05 gave me some motivation to do so, and MY GOD I DON'T LIKE IT HELP. Bolt (antweight) Dynamo (beetleweight) Point Blank (lightweight) Gonna take some serious getting used to........

Dammit, Mazakari. I know you like flippers, but stop building more. You have plenty. Hang on, here's one that's not got a lifter! I am definitely getting less creative. This isn't good.
