In fact now that I think of it, it would be interesting to make a "Ingame Tournament Challenge" thread where you try to win ingame tournaments against Nar AI or Starcore AI.  With non-popups.

actually was my original idea for Backlash Online

have a passcode or such shown at the Golden Sawblade screen and race to find it out and submit it

only problem is everyone will just look in the files themselves and not bother playing..

you missed the point I was making (and click made too)

if you build unrealistically you have to really do something with it like Clicks above shell spinner

you either go all out on un-realism or stay realistic to do well.. things like a realistic robot with stacked batteries isnt goign to make people go crazy over it..

The grey on the menu is put there by the game itself

I kinda blended it all in...
so I didn't have to go through all the .gib files and change all the highlights.  Sue me.)

I never bothered with Nitro...

No need for it

Traxxas Nitro Stampede is clocked at 60mph top speed

Traxxas VXL Stampede (brushless electric) is clocked at 65mph to speed


I just brought the Brushless  ESC and Motor for mine and also a pile of bits to start building one of the 4x4 chassis..

if you want my opinion I have never played in game DSL tournaments.

its only really fun with realistic stock robots fighting the original AI.. otherwise repairs are too annoying..

Alternative: rename the files in reverse order of intensity... so the dull murmuring becomes loud cheering, and the loud cheering becomes booing.  So then when the bots get damaged the crowd cries foul and starts booing.  :mrgreen:

Ribbs should do that for his tournament :P

I think you need Wav file too.. because the game calls files with the extensions

To skin something like that would you have to change the transparency values of the walls? Or is it an invisible GMF with a semi transparent skin?

GMF's like to trick you :P

there is 2 ways to make things transparent

1) set in the GMF for that object

2) use a .tga image with transparency

the former does everything on the object to that degree of transparency.. I tend to use .tga's for my arena's
