I'm not a fan of it by reputation (I haven't personally read it), but my brother has read it and despised most of it and liked around a quarter of it.
I'll stick to harder or more humorous fiction.

weapon spam much
It's a drum, you're allowed to spam weapons on irl drums.
I disagree, it kinda makes every other bot type redundant if they are the sole bot type where that applies (curse you Skidmark). I think there should be a bit of common sense applied.

Nowadays there are a LOT contributers... For example, Freez hosting 5 Battlebots tournaments, me hosting 4... etc. Times have really changed
You still kind of have an arrogant attitude, no offense. Not really. You just need to contribute effectively. Contributing effectively does not directly correlate to post count.
There are still some weird names in AU's... I have no idea what for example, Dexterhunter has done in the community back in 2006-2008 exactly...
It's interesting, really, how one may come to be an AU or Veteran. A lot of it is based on time, obviously. If you are to be a ranked member, your location essentially depends on what era of the community you come from. If you are from the earliest days up until around the time Infinite showed up, you are considered to be a veteran. If you are from the time following that, you are considered to be an AU. Obviously these are broken up more on the Wiki with New World Veterans vs. Old World Veterans.
Furthermore, when someone is considered for promotion to a forum rank, historically it has been completely objective based solely on whenever the hell the staff feels like. The only exception to this is the Roboteer group, but I don't really count that anyways (Unless your name is MikeNCR, sorry guys) That's why there is such a disparity between what you would call a contributing AU or Vet (GK, Sage, etc.) versus one who doesn't seem to contribute much, at least not publicly (Dex, Sys32, Myself before I became a Mod.) There are a lot of people who get overlooked for various reasons, ranging from post history, to activity, limited contributions, to plain and simple whether ACAMS actually likes you.
EDIT: And this is case in point:
And hopefully someday, I'll take my place amongst them =D
No chances... You haven't hosted single Tournament, Built only few bots and I don't even know can you AI.
I never hosted a tournament, I hardly built, and I knew how to AI for a grand total of 5 minutes. These are hardly considered to be the end-all be-all measures of whether or not someone should be an AU. I've said it before and I will say it again, GF has (in my opinion) in the past been much closer to being an AU than most people on this forum realize.
Really I think AU should be for the people who hold the forum together and have the right attitude; freeziez has hosted 5 successful tournaments yet I would not personally give him AU because he doesn't really have the right attitude for it, whereas someone like NFX, who hasn't done a successful tournament, is a better candidate simply by attitude. If I won 8 tournaments and hosted 4 but acted like an arrogant, unfriendly prick all the time I wouldn't be given AU, I'd be mildly respected but considered a complete jerk. Of course, sometimes it can be played right (see Nary and Inf on occasion) but it really doesn't play to my advantage at all.

Design is cool but the bot is seriously ugly, I'd just try a different skin.

Realistically getting to AU probably requires general contribution and the right forum attitude (unless your Sys32 in which case you relentlessly trash everyone with an ego issue).

Looks good, but I imagine it would be better if it had a lower weapon, via a method like the one Ounce mentioned

i've read the book a fair few times

You seem alright to me. Your "grand entrance" was a bit flashy... and that ruffled a few feathers.
Bah ! A real man should make flashy grand entrances !
^ So says the guy who's the first to try and shoot him down xD
On topic: Jack Daniels is pretty bang on. As long-time members of this community, most of us are all pretty skeptical when someone joins and proclaims that their bots are "insane." In recent memory, I've only ever seen one person join the forum and is instantly a good builder (that was Geice). So when
I seem to remember Uncle Knuckles being a pretty good builder almost instantly. But generally before you make a claim that you're a great builder it's best to lurk for a little while.

Try listening to early In Flames since general consensus prefers it. Once you've got used to that you can then progress to Carcass which should make death metal a lot less frightening bro.

Remember that Jonzy and Jonzu are not the same person.
Yes they are, don't be pedantic
Scourge, this is Jonzy. (Image removed from quote.) You don't decide my name, I do. Deal with it.
No seriously, you're starting to sound like chaosmancer
I call you whatever the I want
Hold back a bit, you know he tends to react to stuff like that pretty badly.

i'm not overreacting, just pissed off
Bad luck, but this is the internet. You'll find piles of people trying to make fun of each other for very little reason. Also, you did admittedly brag quite heavily in your showcase. It's better to be modest and to at first observe other peoples standards before projecting your own.

DIVINE FLAME WAR PREVENTING INTERVENTION GO Seriously, drop it guys. While I feel ty shouldn't have started using Jonzu as the subject of his joke (we know how that ends up), Team 9 pretty much threw a pointless accusation too, so please just give it a rest, make up, and go do something productive.
