That won't get under anything, that's not the actual outside shape.

Right I'm just gonna go over your rules to fix them up
8 entrants. Little small but okay Exception of BFE for chassis shape Oh. Also I'd recommend just allowing BFE for realistic purposes... makes everything less awkward, because you're not gonna know if I attached a flipper segment that the game wouldn't let me for some reason, but it looks like it should've, via BFE. No scuttlers, crawlers or walkers. Why no walkers? Surely if someone gets creative and builds an actual decent walker, that's to be commended? Most of this is just suggestions but yeah. 2244

I'll look into it in future, but for now, I just want something functioning. I'm not really competitive with my designs, if you couldn't tell :P

150g, Badnik. :P
Why the servo drive, Natster? 2246

Some thick HDPE and those components/escs will cost me more than I can really spend though, I'm doing this ant on the cheap.
I'll probably end up doing that feather plan over Summer :P 2247

Yeah, I know I gotta jazz up the skin.
I was kinda going for something sorta Behemothy-but-tank-ish, but the flipper ended up reminding me of RW-era Ripper for some reason. 2248

This Trooper is really good, and I'm not a beer person.

I did think that, but it sounds better than Picohurtz. Microhurtz is an option I guess.

Right time for a big listy numbered reply :P
1) Yeah, Sketchup. Still, it's computer aided! :L 2) Weapon motor wise I don't care how it works as long as it looks like the bigger thing so I think that should do me fine. Bear in mind I have been chatting to Tweedy about this also. 3) Feather is still in planning but is gonna have to wait, I have literally no money or a lot of time until probably around April, so if I can get something running by Bluewater next year (if it runs) that'd be perfect. I'm also completely open to buying a FW should the right kinda one come up, but that's unlikely :') Keeping my eyes on the FRA For Sale section. 2251

'heated'
haha. Snappy is going to be fixed up and have a few major upgrades over Christmas, and I've also bought the parts for my next project, Nanohurtz. Yeah, antweight Terrorhurtz, whatcha gonna do? (mainly not be scared because it's going to not cause any damage) ![]() Current CAD of the HDPE 'box' the components will sit inside (thank you Tweedy), which will be surrounded by slanted polycarb, for authenticity. Probably just speedhacking a 360 servo for the axe for now, so it might not even right due to the lack of torque, but it'll look cool, and that's all that matters. :P 2252
Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: Craaig's Ironforge Bots« on: November 29, 2014, 07:31:28 PM »
The original build of this thing (shown first) was made while I was watching a film. I don't know how or why, but it's a bit different.
![]() I just spent some time polishing the weapon system up however, and I now have this pure flipper. ![]() Thoughts? 2253

If that's true then fair enough. Hope you get back into it one day, but it's fair if you've got other stuff on your plate :)

If people are brilliant they shouldn't be tryharding an IRL tournament and just entering something super cool looking, but okay.
I'll remain concerned over the matters previously mentioned but that's just going to happen regardless with these restrictions. 2255
Tournament Archives / Re: New Blood:First Strike Tournament Discussion« on: November 29, 2014, 09:26:35 AM »
Nice idea but I feel the whole exclusion thing really kinda sucks and will drive the quality of your entries down tenfold.
Also no BFE = no thanks for IRL, even if I was allowed to enter, 90% of my irl stuff now uses some form of BFE for the better. 2256
Tournament Archives / Re: GREATEST TOURNAMENT OF ALL TIME« on: November 29, 2014, 06:43:28 AM »
It's just a single non-serious tournament, lighten up. At least 2 more serious tournaments are starting up within the next month anyway.

Because of a just-for-fun tournament? I'm sure that's the reason and nothing to do with people abandoning tournaments or anything Jonzu.

As previously mentioned, I don't really beer, but last week I bought one of these, for obvious reasons

Thanks Jonzu, that's enough off-topic and flaming on all sides. Will keep my eye on this thread.
