It's completely and utterly against all the rules to reject entries for someone else to enter, so yeah.

Although I agree with allowing IRL bots into Standard contests (not tournaments) like this... a lot of IRL bots do break Standard rules, eg cheatbot2 use, bfe use, and I know I've gotten away with a few things not truly realistic because it's hidden inside chassis.

Discussion / Re: Flawed bots
« on: December 04, 2014, 04:25:13 PM »
This topic is in General Discussion, so just go ahead and make a new thread in the DSL/Stock/Custom Showcase section depending on what your bots use.

As for AI, I already sent you all the tutorials I can, just go through them and even see how already AIed bots work to get a decent grasp. As for filming, you'll be lucky to get anyone non-lazy enough - just AI them yourself and then battle then for yourself :)

DSL TC Showcases / Re: battlebots247 Robot Showcase

Did you delete a load of posts here? Seems odd. Only knew to come because of the chatbox.

Anyway...
1) The chassis is a lot bigger than it needs to be.
2) E-teks aren't good drive motors. Try NPC Fasts. The wheel choice also isn't great. Wide Ants, Hypnos, Vlads, Tornados, Technos and Overkills are all pretty good (I think...)
3) Battery wise in DSL you only need 1 ant batt per spin motor (bursts still need full power as noted in their descriptions). As so, this bot could cope with 3 ants (but 1 extra for luck is good practice).
4) That is nowhere near enough weaponry for a HW. Try and get a LOT more on there. This could be helped by...
5) Improving extender work. Try using a disc or hex plate instead of that heavy extender in the middle, and the angle extenders/T connectors are all very very weak components - try using the side attachment points on regular extenders

Why the parallelogram shape if it's a non-inverting flipper?

Modifications / Re: Robot Wars RA2 - OFFICIAL MOD
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:51:29 PM »
Of course I bloody haven't. I've only posted 37 times. 38 if you count this one. And I WANT this mod to come out. I'm actually waiting for it, patiently. I don't even know how to do what HB is doing. I just build a robot, make a team, fight, then that's that. I don't decide to go making mods for games when I can't even make a game. I'm new here. I want this mod so badly, but I'll wait for it. I'm just a gamer, not a game developer.

I request that we forget the above happened and do NOT reply to any of it. Anything further and I'll apply punishments to everyone involved.

Last warning before punishments are dealt. I'm being lenient because you're new...

I get that shape's hard to accomplish in RA2, but you could've at least added the cut-out section at the front for the flipper to fit into.

Okay, let's sort this out.
Taylor, it sounds like you're just angry because the pack might take longer than you'd like. It will take as long as it needs to take and no longer. Frankly, if the guys said 'hey we're taking a 3 week break' you should be like 'okay cool, I know the pack will be awesome when it comes out so I don't mind a few extra weeks.'
Jonzu IS lazy. He admits it. Everyone knows it. PLEASE don't try and weigh in on that topic when you're as new as you are.
At the end of the day Alex has it right - as does Sonny.

I request that we forget the above happened and do NOT reply to any of it. Anything further and I'll apply punishments to everyone involved.
Taylor if you want to discuss this more, message me directly.
Jarvis/HB, if you need anyone to AI a few bots or test anything while your stuff's down, shoot me a FB message and I'll get on it.

Yep, but next time maybe crop the image to just the bot - we all know what the Bot Lab looks like :P

The replica isn't bad, looks kinda disproportionate though, and the wheels are closer to the body in the real one. You could avoid a lot of those issues if you made the chassis bigger though. Awesome first try though :)

Well as you technically showed it before anyone else entered, you can leave it in, but PLEASE note for next time. It is in the rules somewhere.

And NOW you've edited in your entry?
You're REALLY meant to do that BEFORE signups open - you never said you were entering.
Dat track record you mentioned...

That's because you asked me to put it in signups, and the post above yours says I put it in signups...
So it's in signups.
Technically you shouldn't be changing the name. But whatever, it's pretty minor.
