FROM THE PRIMORDIAL SWELLS OF STOCK
TO THE HOSTILE AND FLAIL-INFESTED DSL PERIOD
IT HAD REACHED ITS FINAL FORM UNDER IRONFORGE
and still no one gave a crap about it because it kinda sucks tbh

THE MIGHTY

CAR STEERING

but all dat bout 2 chenge
now is da newest fad in irenforg gaming i give you

steel 10

so the IDEA is that since rammers miss a friggin ton it seems because they oversteer or understeer, that the car steering will help to stay on target. It actually works okay, it needs more work yeah, but the results are promising. I think an AI will be better with it than I am though. the car steering part actually has decent power in and of itself, which helps the speed.

another possibility is ditch the car steering and use 2wd/4wd with a wheel perpendicular on the back to turn gently, but that seems like it would hurt the speed a bit.

the actual design of the robot really isn't that important and can basically work with any number of setups. I still think a wide ramming rack is probably a good idea, but it's pretty much just preference.

id probably just do 2 small wedges and mess with the weapon a bit more
razor tips damage is nerfed in IF because it has no normals, maybe try picks or blades or something with higher DP.

hey RFTW welcome to the forums.
good start for a bot, I'm not really the best at stock but the main thing I can see to improve on this probably opening the disks a bit. It seems like they way it is now would be hard to actually hit anything with, and if you made them more facing forward I'd imagine it'd help. It's a good start though, you know axle loading and stuff already it seems so I assume you've checked out the beetlebros ra2techs page.

Try out DSL and Ironforge if you haven't already :) looking forward to see what you come up with next.

pretty cool looking man, can't think of much to improve :)

unless you want to add some dark armor on front and yank the armor down, so it's like more HP on the front and less in the back

I don't think that'll matter much... more thinking the diameter may be too big and its not a disk. You might want to make a smaller one and have a ramming rack in the front or something like that.

edit: just use a tribar too its more durable

seems like the weapon will get stopped real easy and the chassis will spin instead?

DSL bars don't really do any damage, at least add a weapon on the ends

2233
that's probably the most un-tacky thing I've ever seen conra

but yes you're right

2234
well its not bad :P

2235
fun fact: lichtenstein actually stole a lot of his art

well it looks uh... durable anyway

beep beep crap bots coming up

ok so on my endless quest to make a MW aneurysm that doesn't completely suck i pulled this thing out of my butt

(spoiler alert: it sucks)
the main problem with a MW version of aneurysm is the drum diameter. i'm never going to be able to use crushing teeth which is what gave the thing most of its punch, so i guess ninja stars are the next best thing.
TOO BAD THEY BLOW since the mesh is a circle instead of following the model, it just doesn't have any updraft which makes it pretty weak.
It's also a lot harder to make invertible with the larger proportion drum so i have to add wedges and stuff which i don't like. you also run into the problem with the first versions of aneurysm with having to have external motors which is just a disaster. the drive is also a problem because with this design you need the wheels sticking out the back a bit (helps invertibility), However for MWs RCs are too weak and slims are the right speed but too big so the wheel doesn't stick out the back so it has a super hard time running upside down.
it's just a mess as a MW and while it could possibly be done, I think a design like this will always be way more effective as a HW in ironforge at least.

so i was thinking of ways to make this thing not the most crappy machine on the planet and I was like "so i want more updraft, screw invertibility on a MW with this, protected motors"...
IN OTHER WORDS A VS

so

version 1, version 1 second version

i'll be the first to admit they're not the most awesome things ever, but they sure are a heck of a lot better than the piece of junk before.
steel 3, 4 ballasts for stability, slim drive (on second one), 1 black and 1 pink
updraft is decent. I kinda want help on this one more than anything. I think it could be really good if I mess with it.
Its main weakness is its still kind of unstable, mainly tipping forward. And if those wedges go its all over. I'll probably just make a bigger chassis to make the center of gravity further back but I wanted your guys' advice on this one. I really hate wedges in general but I think it's probably a necessary evil for this one if I want it to uppercut stuff or else you get into Beer Goggles territory and that thing is just a crawler.
I want to make something original but I feel like the small component selection in IF is making this difficult. I really love the mod overall but I think this will hurt it in the long run.

anyway feedback would be peachy

i have 1600x900 and my game looks exactly like the image above.

itll be lighter and more durable to just use 2 anchors per side vs the arrays
it will be shorter though so idk

on the wiki it said it was to avoid getting stuck on its side
