I have an idea for a tournament, but I can't do it by myself.
It's an DSL2.3 IRL tournament that uses a point system to determine the quality and quantity of entrants you want to bring in.
The idea is to encourage a variety in quality of competitors, like in real life. We kinda already have it with the different levels of skill amongst the various builders here, but I think we can go a step further:
Let's have all builders, pros and not pros, use a system where you can either choose between entering a single, super-effective design, or multiple ineffective designs. It would be REALLY hard to figure out what kind of system it would take to make this balanced and fair, so that someone who enters one try-hard design has as much chance to win as a person who enters 5 sh**ty designs. It's almost like a simulation of money: High-end, powerful bots cost a lot, low-end robots don't. The difference is that we all start with the same amount of points, or cash, but what we do with it is different. You could either enter with 1 good entry or several bad entries. I think it's fair, if it's done right.
What makes for a good design? Something that uses NPC Fasts, is invertible, has a powerful weapon, etc. Anything common that you'd see in try-hard designs. It's ok to make them, but it takes a lot of points. If you have a robot that has a powerful weapon, but can't self-right, or a robot with weak armor, poor drive, etc, then that takes up less points, meaning you can make multiple low-end bots.
It's just an idea, and idea I can't do by myself. What do you all think?

Here's Sergeant Bash! I based him off of....ok, I'll be honest: I have no clue anymore. I couldn't make him green because I don't have enough parts, I can't make him a submarine because that's a boring design, and the aircraft carrier design was vulnerable to VS. So I just...made this. Some sort of mobile fortress thing...I guess...oh, and he can self-right with the flame thrower.

Those, again, blow my mind. Try modifying Growler to use one of those technic actuators to give it some more bite. Other than that, nicely done.
Thanks! But again, I have no more actuators I can use.

I don't feel like making instructions. Not interested. Anyway, here's an updated Mr.Psycho, Dead Metal, and a new version of Growler! Dead Metal has new tail stingers, Mr.Psycho has a rebuilt abdomen and beefed up arms, and then there's Growler. I'm not too proud of this one, but this is the best I can do for now. He's big, he's solid as a brick, he has teeth, he has double-jointed jaws, and he can self-right. (I didn't put a piston/linear actuator thing in the srimech like I did with Dead Metal because I ran out of that kind of part.)

Bronco. I have to be honest, I only made this for fanserivce in Resetti's wars, and I got tired of the build before I got it to the level of accuracy I usually shoot for. It looks reasonably like the real thing if you didn't have pics of the original side-by-side.

A little rugged, but I still like it. Is it good at flipping? If not, I have a custom component that can help tons.

Post LDD instructions for these, please. They're awesome. Working srimech. I like building srimech mechanisms.
Sorry, I don't have LDD, and even if I did, I don't know how to make instructions with it.

I feel like an old man building most of my bots from a chassis while you kids are advancing in the extenderbots world.
I know your pain man.

Man, I need to submit my lego bots.
^What I said in my last post^.
Do it. Here's Dead Metal: His saw has always been useless, so it's been downsized a bit. I added a giant, scorpion tail srimech to him that actually works. It also spices up the design quite a bit.

Those are GREAT bots!
Thanks! Here's Shunt: Tough body shell, wider plow, and HUGE horns at the sides, designed to help in self-righting. His axe goes all the way back, meaning I had to remove the rear plow, but that also means if he's ever turned over (which will be hard due to the horns) he can flip himself back over with his axe. The horns set him up so that when he's flipped, there's only 2 positions he can land in: flat on his back, or flat on his face. Either way, he can self right. (Side note: His axe looks like a sickle, which would fit in with his bio as a soviet drone.)

(BTW I don't ship these two. I'm a MatildaXShunt kind of guy.)

Yes, and Killalot is the ex on good terms. No cucking here. Speaking of which, here's Killalot. SIR Killalot. He's still a space marine, but now with a medieval flair, with the Bionicle Hordika chestplate and foot-piece. I gave him wings because I thought they made him look better. He's only SLIGHTLY heavier than Matilda, and of course lighter than Mr.Psycho. I'm worried that out of the original four, Matilda is going to be disproportionally the largest and heaviest. What do ya'll think of these redesigns so far?

Oops, forgot to show the rest. Oh well. Here's the finished version of Mr.Psycho and Matilda. As you can see, their designs deviate from the originals: Psycho uses wheels, wheelguards, and a red plow to fight off spinners, and Matilda uses a gigantic metal bar I found on the street, as well as self-righting wings. I wish I could add a sri-mech to Mr.Psycho, but couldn't. (Maybe later) (BTW I don't ship these two. I'm a MatildaXShunt kind of guy.)

Chrome Fly. I know that it's a bit too wide, but I was so far along with this build, that I decided I'd rather just go with it. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Doesn't seem too wide to me. I think you did a fine job.

I've died! Or have I?
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Here is Apotheosis. A Dual VS with a brutal design made to look sleek, yet jagged at the same time. I went into this design kinda worried, but I ended up feeling really ****in' happy about this 'bot in the end. If only extenderbots weren't so fragile...
This looks incredible!

Wanted to build a kinda bucket scoop lifter thing. This is the result. Was supposed to be 4WD but I had to drop it because it was hugely overweight/ Tried to go for a unique chassis shape. I think I did okay but it came out a bit messy. Bucket is powered by a large VDMA while drive is 2 TWMRs. Bucket is all titanium while the front is steel and everything else is Alu. No srimech and can't self right so it's screwed if it gets flipped.

It looks like it has cat ears. Is this intentional?

the bars are a bunch of dsl bars attached together. its not one component.
resetti basically builds with whatever components look best for the bot he's trying to build. it's not uncommon to see him use stock, dsl and ironforge components on the same bot.
Yup. And his components folder is a complete and utter clusterf**k of messed up custom components, which is why he can't share his replicas. That's why I stopped making replicas with custom parts. Too much of a pain in the ass.

A like? That'll do. Here's another bot for the series, a callback to one of my most successful creations, Metallicus! Bio: "It's the top dog of the tournament. The DEADLIEST robot we've ever seen. It's METALLICUS! Designed, built, and driven by millionaire playboy Toby Keith, he's the son of the CEO of the robotics company that funded this sport! He already won last tournament, now lets see if he can dominate again!"
