His events already check out with health and safety, the only further considerations that need taking into account are the use of high KE spinners, which will mainly just require an arena capable of holding them. This is, to me, where this falls down. It would be awesome and there's no doubt that if it goes ahead I'm in there, but I just don't think that a class 1 heavyweight arena is affordable.

I'm extremely skeptical of this purely because of the sheer cost of such an event, I'm not convinced Jonno can see it through. No offence to him, but it took Battlebots 13 years to get a show on and his arena cannot take spinners. Hell it can barely contain flying heavyweights as it is. He'd need a whole new arena, somewhere to keep it and most of all almost every machine in the country would need a total rebuild.
As for old robots, no. Not gonna happen. Old robot would be decimated against modern machines, and nobody is stupid enough to try.
