50 is the best number.

The only way to do this: bots that have revolutionized RA2 should be there, and bots that are the best of their kind should be there. DSL should not be included. Nothing against DSL, but it's NOT the 10 year anniversary of it, it's the 10 year anniversary of RA2 Stock.
By that logic, nothing with Snapper IIs or AI components can be on the list as those components weren't available at release.

Having been to Scotland I definitely prefer the landscape to England. Been to the Ilse of Skye and some tiny island elsewhere in Scotland and it was a damn fun experience and very pretty.
Yeah, I do like Scotland- been there once, very much enjoyed it, and like you say, does have some fantastic landscape. My only problem with it though is the midges
Oh yeah, the place I went to had tics. Never got attacked by one of those bloodsuckers but it was slightly unnerving. Not as bad as Belgium though :P

Wow, hard to believe that it's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee already- I'm very much looking forward to it ^^
As the forum anti-patriotic man, I honestly couldn't give a crap. A day off is nice but I see no reason to display a sense of typical nationalism for the Jubilee.

It's not like there's not an advantage in standard DSL anyways.
Sure, but there's always a bit more leeway for how a match could go. Even VS vs HS isn't entirely predictable there, while in IRL it's very strict about what type with beat another.

Eh. No offence Madman, but it saddened me that it didn't beat you previously    :gawe:
I'm saddened that I got ROADBLOCKED BY SKIDMARK IN THE FIRST ROUND. AGAIN.
As I said, IRL is far too predictable, because unlike in standard DSL there is always a clear bot type advantage over another.

sooo... can someone explain why the heck did my bot inverted itself ?
Too much drive with too small a bot. Happens all the time if your bot is too fast for its size, and you lost the weapon just beforehand so it lost some degree of weight. If it was a havok, it was self induced.

5 was by far the most badass. Would be better if he called it Vulcan Raven rather than just Raven IMO but then again I am a bit of a MGS fanboy.
7 was cool too, but I have to admit that I was actually a little surprised that 3 won; it just lacked something for me.

IT'S NOT IRL.
I CONFIRM FOR THE 5TH TIME.
IT IS NOT IRL.
Simply outlawing bot types you don't find in real life - so basically, no Flails, Jugglers, Popups, Flying Guillotines or TRFBD.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND.
I WOULD NOT RUN AN IRL TOURNEY 'COS I LIKE ACTUAL DESTRUCTION :P
I'm still not really getting the stuff about Jugglers; if you're going to ban them, you better ban FS, Drums, Disk VS, and Frequency Rammers, because they're all effective for the same reason and is much more accurate to IRL effects than a Disk VS that hurls bots out of arenas despite huge no.s of teeth.

Looks good, but gahhhhhhh irl drum.
You could also spice up the skin a little, but it's respectable.

EDIT: 3000th post. Nice.

Because we're sick of IRL
From Craaig's description, it's more like standard DSL Realism but with IRL bot types. Still not what I'd favour, but it sounds like a sound concept.
But yeah, IRL is a huge failure for actual tournaments because it's not a matter of actual building ability or bot quality (in terms of aesthetics), but more about whether you entered a drum or not; there's also pretty much a guaruntee that certain bot types will lose to others, (see my match against GF93 in BoF 2, where I beat him because I entered a HS and beat his flipper very easily, or my match against Ty in the original Battlebots, where my rammer got annihilated because he entered a spinner).

I think Insectoid should be here for being original and scarily powerful.

Can people who voted simply HW give a reason for not voting all non-irl banned? Just out of curiosity, because I really like the idea.
I'm not sure. I like your idea but there are a few issues I can think of. First of all, what about static SnS (like Pinball style stuff) or SnSnS? They're not strictly as OP as standard flail sns. Also, Jugglers are no less legitimate than VS with lots of teeth like Cash Cow as they're powerful for the same reason, likewise with HS, since they both ignore the rule of energy distribution you see IRL.
Flails and Popups sound like legit things to remove but TRFBD or any other FBD are pretty legit if you don't use flails, and would simply be drums with big wheels and in any sense are probably much more legit than Frequency Rammers or even Rammers with tonnes of weapons.
