Nintendo's conference blowed. Aside from Pikmin 3 it just appears that they're trying to eat into their biggest franchise while releasing a bunch of boring 3rd party game ports already available of other systems.

SO, NO VERBAL AGGRESSION THIS TIME, FOOL ?
SOME OF US HAVE LIVES AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER, OR EVEN LIVES FULL STOP, WHICH CANNOT BE SAID FOR YOUR BLOATED FORM.
But I've got a bunch of bots I could enter, so I'll probably try and find one which is pretty wedgy.

...I think I should copyright ham wars (R) with me and Madman. Too much people are relying on it to look cool, and it is losing it's charm.

Anyway I'm backing Marty as usual.

for about 90% of all robots (in real life) all the weight goes towards making the robot more effective and better, there is no art. It's not like the late 90's British bots with fur and flames. Out of the top 3 30lb's (by win/loss record) two are drums. If RA2 everyone starts building drums someone will come up with a counter to them. (I know I have)

Also, it's seriously boring seeing the same bot pop up in tournaments.
But robots show up for multiple events IRL...
"In real life", that's the case, because in real life that's the best engineering you can put into a bot. In RA2 IRL you're deliberately reducing the effectiveness to conform to a particular visual appearance and function so that you have a bot that looks good but isn't great in terms of efficiency.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but in RA2 damage and physics is completely different to real life. Drums are dangerous in real life but here they act completely differently due to the system of removing the other bots weapons. This almos never happens in real life while here it happens consistently. That's what is probably what annoys me about these current comparisons, as really IRL in RA2 is barely comparable to actual real life combat.

Sure, but they occur more frequently with established rule sets annually, and it takes far more effort in real life to simply maintain a bot, let alone build another one. You cannot honestly say that you maintain a bot in RA2 in the real life sense of the term, and there's no way that you spend nearly as much time building one in RA2 as in real life.

Cool and fun, but last year I did the servo lifter thing with a FS style setup.
Still a very cool bot. You could try and make the counterweight a bit more visually appealing.

SILENCE, WORMS! POSTING ALL IN CAPS IS MY TRADEMARK AND YOU'RE GOING OFF TOPIC OUTSIDE OF JUNKYARD!
Hopefully Valve'll show up at the last minute and save us from this year's E3
We hope.
Watchdogs looks okay. Dunno about the rest.

Only if it stops winning.
The issue with that is that Drums are by far the best bot type in IRL, so unless you wanted a bunch of drums in a tournament (which would be cheap and boring) it would be ridiculously hard to beat while remaining IRL.
I just personally think that Skidmark kinda kills the fun (and not just because I keep losing to it) of IRL because it's not that pretty, cool, or original. It's just effective, which isn't what IRL is about.

This isn't a great argument because drumbots are one of the more effective designs in real combat as well. They're still weak to wedged designs and some types of horizontal spinner. They'll also have issues with higher tooth velocity vertical spinning weapons, as those will tend to grab and throw, exposing the less protected rear of the robot.
Perhaps HS are effective against drums in real life, but in RA2 style IRL it's very tough to beat a drum unless you either have a disproportional spinner diameter (unrealistic) or a VS, which is difficult to build in a way that is IRL while still being effective against other bot types.

In addition, while drums are effective IRL it kills the entertainment factor in the game and the spirit when you have bot built for maximum efficiency while maintaining the guidelines of IRL.
Also, it's seriously boring seeing the same bot pop up in tournaments. It works with standard stock or DSL because bot types are less of a counter to each other as the realism isn't so rigid (spinners can be beaten by well built gutrippers and vise versa, while here it is extremely rare to beat one bot class if yours is just generally poorly suited to fighting it. I've fought Skidmark in the past with a HS and a Flipper and failed to beat it both times as I was constrained by the factor of realism; with the former of my two bots I was outweaponed because I tried to keep a proportional amount of teeth on my disk, meaning I got smashed easily simply out of what would be weapon spam for any bot type OTHER than a drum; the latter of the two simply could not fight spinners because it's a bot type completely nerfed by the IRL rules).

I've seen in the past many people accuse IRL rammers with a few spikes or beaters (say about 8, see smashy's BoF2 entry) be accused of weapon spam, but people act like it's excusable to add a higher weapon total for a drum than other bot types. I'm sorry, but if you want IRL to degrade to this, then so be it, but don't expect me to partake in future IRL tournaments because it kills the spirit of the concept.

What is E3 2012?
Big video game company convention in Anaheim, California. It's held in the same place as NAMM, the yearly musical instrument convention (I think).

Sooooo... Anybody watching the Diamond Jubilee? Loads of music sounding crappy because it's live. It would be so much better if out of nowhere Skrillex appeared, kicked Annie Lennox off the stage, started wubbing, and then got the Royal Box to start moshing to Rock 'n' Roll. I'd watch it then.

Unlikely but it could still happen. XD
Skrillex would make it even worse IMO.
Just waiting for Madness personally.

Damnit stop working out my strategies.

I might actually enter a decent bot instead of this.

Do you mean 398.8?
Your setup is fine and everything looks good. I'd remove the pink and irons, then add blades to the wedges.
