Some of those bots have some interesting names. Looking forward to the series :D

Thanks! When you see some bots that are just, so bad, you WILL tell on some of them just how I gradually got better, hah.

All of the entrants are now added! Only Kenbot TIME1000, "The Real" Big Bot, Siferbot 1079 and Defiler Bot were made by people from the other forum I'm doing this on. The other entrants are from the game, and the remaining 41 entrant spots entirely made by me.

Just found my abandoned Series 4 version of Sumpthing, no idea if I'll ever started this one again. I may try the black version rather than the brown/rusty one. Here's what I did:

The chassis is maybe too wide, don't you think?

Yep.

im confused as heck

you say that this is a display tourney but we can enter bots ????? wat ????????

NOTE: Where it mentions anything about entering does not mean anyone from GTM, I apologize. Maybe that's for the best, cause this is going to be awful!

Yeah, I should probably have gotten rid of the rules, hah.

what game type? stock or DSL?

Thanks for reminding me of something I missed: DSL.

I'm guessing DSL.

Sounds similar to the Robot Wars Series 8 tournament that Jonzu is running. Do be aware that running a Display Tournament here means you can't get any input from forum members: submitting bots, AI help and so forth. It should be pretty interesting if you can pull it off, though. =)

Yep, that's why I looked at the tournament rules before I wanted to post this. Was happy that Display Tournaments had what I wanted. ;)

NOTE: This is a copy and paste from another forum I'm doing this one. I removed the GTM advertisements because posting an advertisement of a site we're already on is very smart, hah. Where it mentions anything about entering does not mean anyone from GTM, I apologize. Maybe that's for the best, cause this is going to be awful!

Series 1

If you wish to enter the future competitions, you must make a robot using the game. In Robot Wars, BattleBots, etc., there are different weight clases but not in here. There will be more things to be added in the future rather than just weight classes.

All main, minor and special Championship competitions will feature any weighted classed robot, from antweight to super heavyweight.

Like any competition, there are rules you have to follow:

- Series 1 uses DSL.
- Only ONE robot is allowed to be entered, per competition. The same robot can be entered twice by entering separate competitions (i.e Main Championship and Sumo Basho).
- Any class of weight allowed.
- No flamethrowers.
- Do not use a robot that is already on the game. Editing a pre-made robot is however allowed.
- In addition, do not copy a creation of another person.
- You are allowed to enter a real-life robot that is not in the game, but must not already be entered.
(Rules still being added)

Heats A - L

Round one will feature eight robots. Two will be pitted against each other where one will be eliminated in each match, leaving four robots to go through.

Robot A vs Robot B, Robot C vs Robot D, Robot E vs Robot F, Robot G vs Robot H

Round two's battles will have two random robots decided via a drawing, where each winner will go onto the heat final.

Robot A vs Robot E, Robot C vs Robot G

Round three consists of the two winners from their first and second matches, the winner of the heat final will go on to the semi-finals.

Robot A vs Robot C

Semi-Finals A - B

Round one has three matches with two robots in each, the losers of each match will then fight once again in a "Losers Melee" where they have a second chance at remaining in the competition.

Robot A vs Robot B, Robot C vs Robot D, Robot E vs Robot F

Robot B vs Robot D vs Robot F

Round two will have two matches with the four remaining robots. The two robots that win their matches, will go through to the Grand Final.

Robot A vs Robot E, Robot C vs Robot B

Grand Final

Round one consists of two matches with two random robots via a drawing, the winners and losers will still have one last specific match afterwards.

Robot A vs Robot B, Robot C vs Robot D

Round two features both losers of their previous matches to fight for the 3rd and 4th spot. The two winners of their previous matches will meet for their final match, and the winner will become the Robot MPire: Series 1 champion.

Robot B vs Robot D

Robot A vs Robot C

Every single match is won either by knockout or a judges' decision.

8 robots were put into each heat via a random numbered drawing. No foul play was had in any of the pickings. There won't be any graphics to indicate who is what heat, in order to keep what every robot looks like a surprise until the shows are posted.

Matches will be decided once again via a random numbered drawing and will find out what matches will take place during the shows.

<3

Does it work?

You fool, of course it does!  ;)

Does look very nice indeed. It's difficult to get right in RA2, because it's such a wierd shape. But you've done pretty well with it. If you put the stabilising bar thing on an axle mount, it had one either side, if I remember rightly. Then the tail could swing over, and the stabilisers would stay put.

Will have to try that in the future, cheers.

I always wanted to do Stinger. The first time I did it was so awful, I used Killalot's drill for the weapon... Until I saw Pwnator's one, I loved it and wanted to make it.

Pwnator's Stinger:

Credit to Pwnator for the idea.

Spin Doctor.

Regarding chassis height, It was lower the first time I started but the maces wouldn't fit due to chassis in the way. Sure, I could have improved it completely, but I [insert excuse].
Whoo, that looks pretty good, actually. Does it have something to represent the chainsaw on the back, like a DSL bar or something?

Unfortunately, no. It was the non chainsaw version. Knowing me, I'll end up ruining it with a chainsaw, hah.

Once again, highly likely already done by someone else, but I wanted to give it a go! Steg-O-Saw-Us.

For such a new member, that's genuinely impressive- I particularly like how you did the spikes and the tail   :claping

Thank you. There were originally two more spikes, one each beside the tail, but removed them due to weight slowing the robot down, hah.
