making fun of autists: the thread.
Say what now? Also, I JUST NOW realized this whole thread was designed to make fun of my Lego Bot Wars series. I can't believe I didn't notice sooner.

The whole idea of the robot is that it's bland, generic, unassuming, and kinda lame, that way it comes off as sort of a surprise when it causes a fatal accident.
You wouldn't expect a robot that boring looking to be so dangerous, would you?
It's not dangerous because it has a single spike, not because it's bland
Wait, wut?
yes, the actual threat of a bot is linked to bot design, not aesthetics
Ah, that. I see. Yeah, having a measly spike doesn't look to dangerous either, but I do recall a story from Robot Wars about a competitor robot who was armed merely with a pneumatic spike, and it caused some health and safety issues with that weapon alone. I should've also mentioned that not only does the bot not LOOK dangerous, but the design itself isn't that potent in general either, which makes the incidents that surround it all the more strange.

Here's another one, Black Dagger: Bio: “Rumor has it that this robot is cursed! If you wanna know why, here’s a list of all the incidents related to it: 1: He stabbed his owner in the face during construction, destroying half his frontal lobe and causing permanent brain damage. It was so bad the owner’s brother had to take over the team. 2: His first 2 opponents broke down in his debut tournament, and he went berserk halfway through his first fight! We had to send in another competitor robot into the arena to stop him. 3: He fell on a pit crew member’s foot, crushing it completely. 4: It’s weapon fired off during maintenance and stabbed someone in the abdomen, even though the robot was turned off! (This nearly got us shut down) This bot already passed safety inspection before, and it has again. Some people are skeptical, but others are worried about what misfortune this bot will bring THIS tournament.”

Recyclopse (Image removed from quote.) Theres only one other Recyclopse rep and its from 2011
that's a pretty cool replica! you know what would be a cool bot to replicate? Anarchy! (Image removed from quote.)
Is that your way of asking for a replica? Again, that's a taboo on here... ...buuuuut, I DO recall making a replica of Anarchy years ago, and it was pretty damn good. I lost the botfile though, but here's a pic of it:

Custom skinned parts don't count as Custom components.
Really? Over the years I've been here, custom-skinned components were always considered a type of custom part. If it's something that doesn't originate from the version of the game you're playing, even if the only difference is just a skin texture, it counts as a custom part. I've believed and stated this and so far nobody has disagreed with me. Ever.

this one it's another interesting design that hasn't been done here. maybe i'm wrong but it seems that dutch robot wars bots aren't really noticed here.
Resetti did this one before, but it was a LONG time ago.

Speaking of OBJ, I'm really enjoying this after just learning it and should hopefully be able to pump out a lot of decent replicas. And actually skin them at some point. Maybe I can make the shapes and internals and Cinghial make the skins, deadly replica combo

Edit: Splinter is done now.

Epic!

Crazy Coup 88 can still use some work, but Mastiff looks great!

Made Shredder. Happy with how I BFE'd the red discs into the blue and especially how I BFE'd the chassis shape.

Oh, also I made Apollo but haven't skinned it yet.
(Image removed from quote.)
And same situation with Firestorm, not skinned and the flipper glitches through the floor so will replace that at some point. Edit: changed the flipper to an armour panel.

They're pretty damn cool, I'd love to see you create more such as classic Robot Wars Competitors: Chaos 2 Hypno-Disc Storm 2 Thermidor 2 Dominator 2 Comengetorix Ming 3 Spawn Again King B Powerworks Thor Terrorhurtz R.O.C.S. Pussycat Hellbent Behemoth Dantomkia Panic Attack Diotoir Kan-Opener
Battlebots: Valkyrie Lockjaw End Game Bite Force Ultraviolent Razorback Stinger Son Of Whyachi Poison Arrow Death Roll
King Of Bots: Vulcan Saber 2 Switch Whirlwind Two BBQ
They will look awesome if you decide to create them. Robot Wars Reboot: Concussion Vulture Androne 4000 Apocalypse
Asking for or even suggesting replicas is frowned upon here. Just thought I'd let you know, since you're new.

Can you make a video of them working? I'm curious on how the first one works.
Unfortunately I can't make a video, but, I can give the bot file. The shuffler is easy to handle, but the walker requires patience, and again, tends to malfunction. But it IS capable of working sometimes. It turns fine, it's just moving forwards and backwards that's difficult.
It's awesome you made a walker and shuffler. I think I will copy the mechanism on DSL using DSL components for a different bot if you are comfortable with it, and then put the walker or shuffler I made for PVP or something if it's available
Sure. Here's the bots:

Thanks! Here's a make-shift walker design. It CAN function, but sometimes doesn't. It's really finnicky. (Based off a DSL walker bot design I made years ago.) Also made a MUCH more functional 4 pod shuffle bot.
