1) No, I have nothing against RA1 but the rules start tournaments must be run under AI otherwise its easily bias.
2) We went to the effort of making a specific discussion topic pinned up the top so this section is left for only actual tournament threads yet you decided to ignore that.

I have a question..
Why is it, NC that you are so eager to become a Tech Adviser?
Just curious.. This is the first case of this request (normally its just bulk requests for Advanced user)

Now im not condemning any ideas here and interested in hearing everyone's thoughts.. as my "mentor" says "input is appreciated, so lets have some food for thought"..
Does Tech Adviser apply in general or specific to RA2 ?
In general it appears so that NC (though cant quite find the right section to post in :P I kid, I kid) would deserve the title..
But if was to be thrown into the RA2 tech support section.. could he come up with an answer for a significant amount of queries, the same way as Trov or Serge can ?
If the answer is yes, then by all means, if the answer is no.. well you can see where im heading.
Though I dont doubt the fact you will get there soon, there is no need to jump the gun.. If you can understand with the title means a huge increase in RA2 questions being fired at you..

either
Vertical Clamp (or Clamp if you want to bring it to basic types)
or
SOW (Servo Orientated Weapon)
I'd say clamp myself..

Likewise, but can't they like have it as http://www.worlofwarcraft.com/cataclysm or something? I mean, I want that site!l
Blizzard would own the World of Warcraft domain but whoever took the Cataclysm one wasnt Blizzard.. its just a fan page..

Flipper and DSL Onslaught arena
The Onslaught arena doesnt have the AI paths in it (unless someone has fixed it) So all the AI robots will drive straight forward and into the pit..

Pot Luck
-DSL HW -Realistic Rule -No BFE/AAM -No Cheatbot2 Parts. Anything found in a clean copy of DSL without using cheatbot2 is fine. -All in game glitches allowed as long as they abide to the realistic rule. -I can AI if you really need me to, but i'd suggest doing it yourself if you can. I reserve the right to ask you to AI your own bot if I cannot AI it effectively. -Bots get one free Havok restart per match, if they Havok again the robot is disqualified. -3 minute long matches. If robots are still alive at the end of the match I will decide on the total points for the team. -Narmour be gonetm enabled -16 bots. Standard double elimination bracket. Just getting that out there.
The fun part for this tourney is that before you build your robot. Everyone chucks a robot type into a virtual hat. (HS/VS/Popup etc). When I have all spaces filled, one robot type will be given out to each person and they will have to build that type of robot. I will also throw a curveball into the mix by assigning an extra type to one person. Multibot. Just to mix things up.
You will also chuck an arena into another, arena themed pot. I will then draw one arena from this pot and this would decide the arena for the tourney. Whatever happens this is going to be interesting.
For example, say it were a small, 4 bot bracket, it would work like this:
Jeff enters and selects HS. His arena choice is the Combat arena. Bob enters and selects Vs. His arena choice is the Bbeans arena. Tim enters and selects Rammer. His arena choice is the Aon 2 arena. Charles enters and selects Popup. His arena choice is the Bbeans arena. A jiffy later and it would look like this:
Jeff has to build a Rammer *Multibot* Bob has to build a Popup Tim has to build a Hs Charles has to build a VS
The arena choice is the Bbeans arena. Rules on robot types you choose:
-You can choose the robot type, but you can't go any more specific than that. You also cannot select hybrids. I've probably worded that badly so here's some examples to make it clearer.
Sheck Spinner - Yes Flail Sheck Spinner - No Rammer - Yes Concussion Rammer - No Flipper - Yes Inertia flipper - No Flying Guillotine - Yes Horizontal Spinner/Hammer hybrid - No
-You can choose the same robot type as someone else. So 2 people could choose Rammer or something. However, a robot type cannot be chosen more than 4 times overall.
When choosing the arena you want to chuck into the pot. There are a few rules for this aswell. Sorry.
-No seizure arena, tabletop arenas or king of the hill arenas. -If I cannot find the arena you chose easily. Then it shall be up to you to find a download link for me. -If the arena lags up the game/is impossible to film a match well in, then I shall have to politely ask you to choose another arena. -You can choose the same arena as another person. You and someone else both want the same arena chucked into the pot? By all means. Increase the chance of that arena getting chosen. -You can choose whether to turn the hazards on or off. I'm probably going to regret saying that.
But, before you enter. Think to yourself. "Do I have the time to build any robot type the GTM community could throw at me? If I get hampered with a bad robot type, am I willing to enter it anyway? Would I not moan to high heaven if I got a bad robot type? If something happens which means I can’t send a robot in, will I tell the host?” Please go through this mental checklist before entering.
Entrants: (As soon as the spaces are filled, I will shuffle the bot types around and distribute them, you will then have a 3 weeks to build the robot and get it to me. In that time period you can update as many times as you want. Warning: If you don't submit your bot before the deadline, your bot/space is up for grabs by the backup brigade.)

The Backup brigade: (Yes, Badnik's favourite backup brigade is back! If you miss out on the main bracket. Then you can join the Backup Brigade. If you are needed, you will take that person's robot type and you will get an extra week on top of the normal deadline to build the robot. You will not get to choose an arena/bot type. But you will get eternal satisfaction in the knowledge that you prevented a bye. The Backup Brigade is limited to 4 people)

Fighting internet piracy is like trying to throw coco-pops at a rabbit in a highly windy area
It just wont work and if you finally succeed.. its not going to achieve much..

For a first timer I recommend FB's modded compiler on the Beetle bros site, it overwrights, etc easy and works 100% with the small arena..
