To each his own, but since I dabble in a lot of hobbies (music critic, gamer, food critic, film critic, guitar, making guitars, model making, tactical board games, casual sport, art, ect.) I tend to enjoy a lot of things. 1365

A few new bots.
![]() Sawbot. Can't remember the number of ants, I think Plastic 3. Uses the dread disks on the outside and the minions on the inside so it could absorb the damage of enemy attacks better. The Perm 80s get hit more often than the disks get taken off unfortunately. New version has the perms protected and a lighter top plow. ![]() Angled juggler. I aimed for much more powerful spin motors on this one so it could seriously just tear things to bits, and it does well at that. ![]() ![]() IRL Lifter. Small JX works for the lifting arm, and it has 4 magmotors for the drive. Not especially wedgy but works as a rammer as well as a flipper. Not invertible but it's nice to drive. 1368
Discussion / Re: IRL: The Chopping Board« on: August 24, 2012, 05:03:03 PM »Find me a bot with that sort of wedge that can consistently get under bots with a chassis wedge flush with the ground IRL.yes it does, put a low to the ground axle on a bot and it's pretty much the same. the only thing that bothers me is when it sticks out of the chassis unrealisticallyi'd say that aslong as you don't see most/all of the metal hinge, it's fine.It doesn't function realistically though. 1369

No point in discussing this until we make component changes since it simply won't work well enough.
but since we're on the topic: 1. No wedges to be used for dedicated outweaponing purposes other than skirt hinge wedges (ideally skirt hinges) I say if metal hinges aren't placed on the very bottom of the robot and look like they aren't detracting from the spirit or look of the bot, then they can be used. If metal hinges are used just because they are metal hinges, then no.I say if they are used in realistic way, or for side protection, rather than round the front. 1376
DSL TC Showcases / Re: FOTEPX's DSL Showcase« on: August 24, 2012, 03:13:43 PM »Trouble is, people who are capable at doing this are already working on their own projects.I discussed the idea with Conraaa a while ago. Should just be a matter of adjusting the component settings we have currently so that they're much more difficult to break (just a matter of fracture adjustment) and by increasing the power of DSL bars and other underpowered weapons. It's also probably possible to increase the weight of single weapons like spikes and to dramatically increase their damage ratings so instead of mounting a tonne of weapons on a rammer you can, you add a single, heavy, powerful spike. 1377

I'm not sure but I generally find that popup elements on gutrippers tend to not add as much to the damage potential as a more powerful set of gutripper and juggler weapons.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: FOTEPX's DSL Showcase« on: August 24, 2012, 02:48:27 PM »In real life, a skirt on a hinge does not get outwedged by a steel wedge mounted on a doorhinge every time. It's more of random chance. The issue is that they are unrealistically effective in function. So you are afraid to post stuff here because of the opinion of others ?? atm theres no strict guidelines for what qualifies for irl and its definition is objective, which is why everyone argues that certain bots are or arent irl (see: naryars showcase, dragonslayer in blades of fury 2, chocolate in ra2 olympics london)What would deal with this problem is an IRL component set that reduces the OP-ness of certain components (mostly wedges) and that would get rid of ridiculous outweaponing. 1380
