We got permission from the current owner of the new version. The old team would likely be hard to get hold of and have little in the way of usable textures for the S7 bot.

A: We either couldn't get permission or the model wasn't up to standard, and the modellers were too busy working on the literal truckload of other reps. ;)

Basically including anything new in the botlab is just to add a little extra bulk. The replicas are what people want, and they're what people have, and frankly, of the absolute highest quality RA2 will ever have.

Only problem I have with the mod is that controls for a good portion of the robots in the robot designs folder are set to some weird things that don't map to a keyboard.

Other than that, great work.

They actually map to an xbox controller, if you're that way inclined. It's because HB forgot to change them to keyboard controls ;P

Each update will add a few teams. It took 2 years to make what you currently have so imagine the speed the modelling guys would have to work at to add massive packs relatively quickly. There's a balance between time and quality. The quality is most important.

Because the old RW games were so balanced ;) don't worry guys I'm gonna waste all my time between now and Christmas balancing everything for you to show no appreciation for :L does strike me as amusing that the people abusing this and flaming the components aren't usually IRL builders, lol. It's for fun. Treat it as such. This isn't competitive building.

@Larrain, thanks for the support. In answer to some of your questions...
-I expect the instructions have been largely useless, I only wrote them in case anyone was completely new to ra2 and had 0 idea what was happening.
-We had a few issues with the installer, hence the slightly delayed release. There are copies on the net but some of the team couldn't get it working for them.
-the RW site will be mentioning us, unfortunately Jonnos been at the World Champs (naturally seem as though he's running them and entering) so hasn't had the chance to update it.

Also, Rhys, yes but you'd have to learn how to do it yourself sneakily. Legal stuff, youknow :P.

We'll look into armour, but this is a separate tc mod to DSL so I can't say with any certainty we'd even try to make it fully compatible with DSL. After all, HB and the others worked on new components for a reason ;)

Any reason why multiplayer is disabled? I'd like to be able to play this with people...

The old 'non-standard components' error plagued my multilayer tests to an extent it just wasn't worth it. I'll look into what we can do to improve that in future releases.
as long as both parties have the components, online will work. you literally just need to change one value in some text file to allow them.

I'll get on that and try get it sorted for Christmas :)
