ok voting is now closed for the format with a tie between Realistic and Realistic-ish so I have decided to use the guideline click had for BBEANS4 since he always runs successful tournaments so here it is

its not really flawed just means your bot wont get a good qualifying position but if your prepared to sacrifice that for that type of bot its up to you, the little bot does tend to trip over if its left on the run too long, let me put it this way ... Its not made to last :evil: lol

basically that little blue bot running away, your bot has to kill it asap the quicker the kill the better the qualifying position will be, and higher qualified vs lower qualified first round, so if your bot qualified well you get an easier fight

Update:

Ok I just uploaded a sneak peek video of how qualifying will look, i just used default DSL AI to show you (it includes Moe lol) :-D hopefully this will draw in more people

Edit: I think i will leave voting open for the next 24 hours (should cover all time zones) so everyone has a chance for there say but at the same time it wont run on forever

ok I have set up a site which will hold brackets, videos etc when the tournament is underway

the home page has a poll for everyone

choose option one if you want complete realistic down to a weapon crossing the battery isn't allowed

choose option two for no limit to what can be done

choose option three for realistic rule with components (eg: no stacking) but things like a eFFe glitch or a weapons blade cuts through a wheel a bit or something similar

2 people have already sent pictures of bots to me with not absolute realistic but I would rather not turn them away so I would prefer people stay away from option 1

sorry about the double post Just a new update:

little cube is now AI'd (gave me a good laugh watching the little bot trying to run away from a HS) lol and im going to post up the entry list and dates etc asap :-D,

still a little confused on weather it is going to be realistic rule as some want ... Im thinking realistic as far as components but thinks like the edges of blades going through a wheel or something is still ok, but with relistic it wipes out pretty much every glitch so yeah what is most wanted  

but I wont to get the most people I can so im trying to please everyone :-D

ok there is a little debate weather to go "Realistic rules" or anything goes, basically I want to get the most people I can so ill take the majority vote

its looking like its realistic (i don't use DSL much so im not really sure of the normal tournament rules)

but I wont enforce it being over the top realistic if a blade or something strikes a battery it wont matter

so what does everybody want ?

@ russian roulette : I dont know how to make custom components, there isn't really much point in skins so I guess bragging rights and the golden cube (its just the picture lol) but if anyone wants to put up something for grabs feel welcome



Im really glad this has sparked so much interest, just need someone to help me out by doing the AI for little cube and I can set some dates up

the idea behind the cube is that the bigger you want your base the higher your bot will have to be, just adds an extra degree of difficulty for the builder making that decision compact and small or big and tall. just to clear things up there is nothing in the rules about containing everything in the cube *wink wink* your welcome to put however much you want on the outside

since its gained what I would say sufficient interest im going to go ahead with it

Bots can weigh no more then 800kg

The fights will be one round only, no best out of…. Winner moves on
