They're all so slick-looking!

Heat A - I fully expect this to go to Lance-A-Frog or Robbie Botten, I don't think any of the flippers can stand up to them. I like the skins on Dwarf Adder and Garter Snake, and Sea Lobster is adorable.

Heat B - I'd call Lynx and The Revenger the bots to beat here. Nightmare Moon Evo could grab a win against one of them, if it's stable. Armoroid and Aesdeef feature some really creative uses of armor and extenders, respectively.

Heat C - Kind of a toss-up, as the bots with the strongest looking weapon setups seem to have fairly exposed chassis, which could put them in danger against the undercutters or Clip Hurr. Clip Hurr looks the nicest, though Sir Morphsalot and Night Stalking Murderer are lovely too. Big Stick is certainly creative, and as someone who loves big, undercutting weapons, I'll be rooting for it to get a win.

Heat D - Hirohito looks like it should handle this heat pretty easily. Ferrotite is the only bot I see that might have the potential to get a good OotA flip against it.

Heat E - I had originally been monkeying around with some modular setups for Witching Hour's weapon setup, and if I had entered one, I might feel confident in this heat. However, in testing, I can definitely see that she's pretty outdated compared to current standards and suffers from mobility and weapon power issues. Toxin, Dune Buggy, and Mustard all stand a chance at beating her here. I want Containment to win because it looks absolutely beautiful, but would probably bet on Toxin (which also looks really nice).

Heat F - DoT's lookalikes area always the best, Implosion looks like it could actually perform better than the bot it's based on too. Still would pick Evil Art Project or Macromandra to win this though. Winner of this heat could potentially win the whole thing, in my eyes.

I keep meaning to post this and always run out of time after browsing, but your creations are all impressive, Hoppin! A couple of them that you've posted in the Exchange have been really entertaining to play around with and they all look unique too.

As someone who hit kind of a rut in the game where I felt I wasn't meeting my own standards of building but still enjoyed playing to a degree, I really appreciate that there are still people uploading to the exchange and posting in their showcases to keep the game fresh and fun for lurkers like myself! :)

Try a spinner losing to the wall.

After the real Robogames this year, this is at least IRL-accurate.

Got to give a shout out to Demon and the whole community for this tournament. I was super hesitant to jump back into the game after I spent so much time working on my last project (a glorious giant beater-bar hammer) and then accidentally deleted it. </3

However, watching these fights and seeing so many fun designs is inspiring af.

A few thoughts:

-It was really nice to see both Cling and Ashtray get wins. Both are designs I respected and appreciated, but I honestly didn't expect that out of them at all.

-Vanilla Ice seemed at first like it could be a viable counter to Raus, and Raus still managed to walk away with a big win. I feel like that says pretty good things about it going forward.

-Tire Chipper needs some kind of protection for the front of the chassis, otherwise I can't see it ever being effective. And this is from a member of "Undercutter Lovers Not-So-Anonymous".

-Speaking of:

Not PP3D:  Undercutters don't work.  I don't understand why people still do them.

-Quoted Gulden for posterity.    I don't like the NotPP3D bots, they're a bit boxy and sloppy-looking. But I respect the win here.

-The Cruiserweight fights were amazing. inVasion surely would have stomped my poor bot if GTM Robot Wars had kept going. It's so aggressive.

-Walkure v. Duke 2: #Lewd

-Black Steel could not turn GTM Robogames into the #WedgeWorld that irl Robogames has become, thank you based Paladin. Maybe Whiplash should consider stealing an old Mechavore disc for next year's rematches against Swamp Thing and Original Sin...

-I'll make my thoughts on Anti-Grav as brief as possible. I dig the Anti-Grav series. It was one of the first GTM bots I checked out. I always appreciate Avalanche's bluntness here and on the BB subreddit. But it wasn't just the arena that caused this result. The fact is, Anti-Grav could have easily taken a judge's decision if it had just lasted the whole 3 minutes. If you have no idea where the tournament will be held ahead of time, it seems advisable to make sure you're prepared for any scenario possible. That includes giving your robot enough battery power to sustain the entire length of the fight. It's an incredible risk to take, leaving a robot with less battery life; and in this case, it cost Avalanche a win.

-I downloaded Mass Collider a while back to play around with. It's seriously one of the most powerful Tomb-clones I've seen in the game and can even dish out major damage against a lot of bots with the extra 200 in weight. I'm eager to see it get more action here.

-Mindsweeper might be my favorite of the Heavyweights. It's a work of art and seems to back it up by hitting hard.

-Didn't really care much for School's Out or Comet 4, but Comet 4 is kind of walking the tightrope of irl which kind of irks me.

-Vulcan H ringing a bot out and getting a win. Kudos!

-Generation Freakshow: A weird combination of everything that should make a bot absolutely ugly and yet still it's kind of glorious. That wedge looks like it's gonna cause problems too.

-Shark Byte's hinged drum (is it hinged? if not, ignore what I'm about to say) is such a clever design decision. One of my favorites so far.

Overall, I feel like the arena definitely will favor larger bots to a degree, but the fact that this is a double-elim tournament should give everyone a pretty good chance.

Oh dang, I wish I'd seen this sooner! I scrapped Exodus (working name) for the time being and started a rebuild of it, mainly because I couldn't get the weapon setup to work well enough and still have enough weight leftover to build support around the armor and balance it. Iirc, it only had Astroflights for drive at I wanna say the wonky 22.5 degree angle because they're the only ones that would fit properly, and the weapon had a Mer-Motor.



My pet project right now is playing around with CF Extender-botting for the first time and refining my first draft of this ridiculously garish hammer design:

(A little bit of inspiration from poor ol' Mega Melvin on that weapon design, though I've had the image in my head of a hammer structure like that for a little while leading up to this)

1. Major problem is that the wedge corners have that gap between them and the rest of the extenders. Also, the support for the weapon could be fleshed out a little more. I have to look for some places to shave off weight to make it up in those areas.

2. The weapon itself is pretty modular. I played around with a version made entirely of Beaters and a version that had Spikes instead of the Frenzy Hammer (which I think I personally prefer). Only showing the FH in the picture because it's the last version I tested before I snapped the shot.

3. All in all, I'm pretty excited that I'm actually building something with CF that I don't want to scrap in the first 5 minutes for a change. My armor work is super sloppy so far, but hopefully I'll get the hang of that eventually.

I like the angled spinner, can you shave off some weight somewhere to get large typhoon teeth? And does the bar intersect the wheels?

Thank you! Fortunately, the bar just clears the wheels, added the small DSL disc not only for aesthetics but also to give it that space.

There's definitely weight left to use. May have to extend the weapon height a little more to keep Large Typhoons from clipping the ground, but it's possible. :)

It's been a hot minute or two since I've had the chance to delve into my weird & impractical 'bot building mind. I'll post a couple of works-in-progress.

On the left: I had a strange impulse to create an axe-build with a 2-wheeled chassis, I guess akin to Toe Crusher, in a way?

Got it all built and realized I set the axe up backwards. Off to a great start. Gonna have to either rebuild the weapon or change the armor around. Not sure if either approach will work, but we'll see.

Also, on the right: A MW angled spinner that I'm currently tweaking. Have to stop it from tilting forward and clipping the ground when turning. The beater wedges helped a little, but there has to be more I can do. Bar isn't necessarily the final product either, just what I'm working with for now.

Any tips or recommendations would be most welcome :)

Just wanted to mention that Tilt has sent me into an existential crisis because it epitomizes everything creative and wonderful that I'd ever want to see come out of this game and I know I could never build something of it's calibur. It's just got such character and is entirely functional at the same time. I'm a huge fan and hope it does decently.

Well I'm thoroughly enjoying it :) So proud that Witching Hour didn't spontaneously combust. <3 Seeing Billet tear Zlammer's wheel and motor right off was pretty metal tho. Same for Gadreel's swaggy exit.

Also, that AFI song is a blast from the past. Good to be reminded of my college days. Radder times indeed.

Important update:
Due to Brexit Craaig can no longer afford internet at his house, which has led him down the road to having to use the free wifi at various places to get in contact. I believe he plans to upload using the free wifi at McDonalds, but I believe we should all pool together and get him and internet connection.

But don't they have All-Day Brexit at McDonald's now?

Thank you! I'm going to try to cobble together/refine some things I've had lying around for Sword of Glory throughout this week because it looks like a really fun tournament. But after that, I'll likely be off the grid for a month or 2, at minimum.
