That's probably the primary issue with BOTM, the splashes. I've enterred BOTM once ever with my replica of Metal Gear Rex, which was pretty good as a bot but the splash completely let it down. I don't have the time to get practice with Paint and so on, and I know my bots would probably only get votes if the splash was good.

I get involved when tourneys happen. There have been too many tourneys with a minimal range of potential participants. A large stock MW (like 090901's) or HW, or just a good HW tourney helps to keep this game's momentum going. AW isn't used much, so while you may claim it as a point of originality it's just as much a deterrent from joining tournaments. The advantage of tourneys like Steel Warzone, BTTB and Nary's is that they're honestly not that hard to build for.

1. What do you want to see more of?
2. Why don't you comment much? (ignore if you do).
3. Where do you spend most of your time on the forum?
4. Do you watch tournament videos that don't feature your own bot?
5. Why don't you enter BOTM?
6. How many AI packs do you have?
7. Do you play stock, DSL or both?
8. What have you given to the community?
1. More tournaments without a stupid gimmick. Simple tournaments to build for generally get more people building for them. IRL, Standard or Unrealistic, usable weightclasses, or tag team. Don't tack too much on.
2. Because not much is happening in the building world. Make a tournament that will attract people easily and people will build moar.
3. Music and movies, showcases, tournaments.
4. Not often.
5. Because this isn't the Paint.NET competition centre
6. 5: Starcore, Nar AI, 123STW AI, Psy AI, BBEANS AI (stock version)
7. DSL mainly. Stock is a little too time consuming and aggravating.
8. A bot type, a few new building ideas, not much else. I'd try a tournament but I'd have to run an ultra ghetto setup and I'd rather run a tournament well.

Hi all

What's been happening?
Been a while mate.
We've had a few tourneys. Box Of Nightmares finally finished, and there have been a few new ones. Sparkey re-appeared with a new account though he's been cool so far. Not much else too consequential has occurred in quite a while, but now playground is lightly moderated.

Try and get the ramplates onto a baseplate anchor-based setup, that should eliminate the issues of your chassis being hit.

Didn't see Gojira or Alestorm.. Saw some Opeth but I was a little bored of it, they seemed to be playing soft stuff at the time.
But yeah, barrier for Weezer and Biffy, 2 of my all time favourite bands so I wasn't complaining.
Yeah well Opeth cranked the good stuff every now and then.

Eh, I saw Slayer and Anthrax the year before.. and Scott was there, which was cooler. As for Slayer, all their songs sound pretty similar to me live so I had no huge desire to watch them twice. Gave us a good break anyway, and since I had to look after my 13yo sister it gave us an opportunity to get away from the 2nd barrier (where we were for Megadeth) and move towards the back for 'Tallica.

But Biffy stole the weekend. :P
Opeth, Gojira and Alestorm did that for me. Alestorm is much better live than on album.
Opeth was slightly disappointing because they played a lot of their Heritage stuff which wasn't so good but they have some sweet tracks.

Also, I found that Slayer had decent variety in their set. War Ensemble, Angel Of Death, Dead Skin Mask, South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss were all there and that was pretty decent. Gary was awesome as usual too, much better than Kerry who's just tired these days.

When you've finished your A-levels and can't find work/have medical problems that haven't gone away yet so you won't look for a job yet.

Gonna sound realy stupid/American right now, but what are A-levels? Or at least what are they most similar to over here?
Are you familiar with GCSE's?
A-Levels are basically what we get immediately before University is a prospect.

Megadeth was good when I saw them last year.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much but I really enjoyed their set.. much more than Slayer and probably Anthrax too. Not fair to compare them to Metallica though, because they got the stage show..
I enjoyed Slayer the most (probably because Gary Holt replaced Jeff Hannemann for the tour, and Gary is the god of thrash or something), followed by Megadeth, then Metallica. Anthrax felt a bit energy-less as Scott wasn't there.

Still, given Testament and Exodus's success they should be headlining stuff more often hahah. We Britisher's need more good thrash at these festivals, rather than pseudo-thrash like 'Tallica and Anthrax (Worship Music was decent though, and early Anthrax is more or less perfect).

A Dethklok fan? Cool, I used to like them alot :)

But not anymore?

I'll admit.  I'm more a fan of the show than the music.  But after watching some youtube videos of the man behind it all, I will say that I am impressed with his skill.  It was the most appealing concert that was offered to me with the raffle prize.

The other choices were: Megadeth (old and dated IMO) or  Twizted (don't care for that music at all) or Clutch (was a fan in the 90's... not familiar with their current stuff)

Dethklok seemed like the best choice of the four.  I would say that I am a moderate fan, but might come back a stronger fan depending on how the show goes.  :D
No, I still like them, just not as much. You're right though, Brendon Small has a lot of pure unsalted talent.

Megadeth would've been pretty cool to me though, although they might not have any newer stuff.

Seriously though I used to be a flaming fanboy for Dethklok back then, the type how you'd see in the show. Looking back on it I feel a little silly but they're still a pretty good band.
Megadeth was good when I saw them last year. it's been a while since Thirt3en so I imagine they've narrowed their set down to their best songs.
Dethkolk is fun but I prefer the show to the band, though Brandon has some shred-cred.

I am religiously in favor of hamburgers.  Nobody had better debate me over that.
Hmm, steak is better.
