I'd just do a tie breaker between the two arenas that won because it will give other people that voted for an arena other than the top 2 a chance to vote on their favourite of the top 2 (assuming there were 3 or more arena choices, I can't remember.)

This thread screams GTM so much, some ****wagon like HA being his usual cancerous self, running around for attention making me wonder why we ever let him free.
The new guy who seems pretty likeable screwing himself over and not realizing it.

Don't blame HA for this. He posted some pretty mild bait. It was the new guy's decision to fall for it hook, line, and sinker. Carrot and Playzooki did most of the flaming afterwords, so they're more to blame for the drama than Andy. This is some typical GTM drama though. Sometimes I think the drama is what keeps me interested, but I'll still call out the people acting a fool.
I admit, I was a fool, however, I don't know why everyone is calling me "the new guy", I mean, I've been around here for almost 2 months, I'm hardly new.
2 months is very new. I still consider myself new :P

You can make a poll right from the get go. Making a poll does not prevent you from changing the rules. In fact, people change the rules to get more yes votes during a poll. It's only if this gets to signups that you won't be able to change the rules.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is a robot made by either Click or Firebeetle that has a bunch of little bots within a single bot file. I have a bunch of their robots in a robot designs folder on a copy of RA2 on my laptop. I forget where I got them from, tho.

Are you using DSL or Official Robot Wars? There are no real updates to RA2, just different metagames. I imagine you have mistaken the Robot Wars mod as an update to DSL as you say that Razer is gone when he was there before, which is not true for any of the DSL updates.
*Edit: Silly me, you might be on about DSL 3. That's beta, so no replicas. You're best using 2.1 if you want the replicas. Official Robot Wars mod is good an' all.

The problem I can foresee with a big GTM tournament is choosing mod and building style, since we're all so spread over everything now.
Well, for that, I'd just choose the most popular versions of each, to make sure most are happy. I'm happy to adapt to DSL and standard building if this does go on, so I'd be just an extra.
Yeah, but what happens if a vote is taken to see the most popular and it goes something like this: Stock - 40%, DSL - 30%, Ironforge - 30% Sure, more people chose Stock than DSL and more people chose Stock than Ironforge but that means that only 40% of the voters would be happy because 60% wanted something else. There are solutions to this but I don't want to make GTM's voting system complicated if it needn't be :P People may join whatever the winning metagame is anyway because it'll be the big one and they won't want miss out. Just thought I'd point that out.
