a really easy way to learn is to start here with Starcores guide
https://gametechmods.com/?do=Guide_to_AIing start by just recycling other robots AI lines for your own, test it then play around with some of the values, test again and again and again and soon you will get the feel for what values should be used for what robots :-D also for stock best place to start is with Starcore Bindings they are a lot neater and easier to under stand then stock and has more .py's to play with 10304
Tutorials and Tips / AI-ing (.py files, coding, R+D, and help)« on: October 13, 2009, 08:38:17 PM »Quote from: 123savethewhales;72362 I have a question. instead of simply changing from one default tactic to the next, is it possible to change from 1 py to the next after all weapon breaks. For example, suppose I want to start with omni, after all my front weapon breaks, I want to change to FBS_1, how would I approach this problem? my guess is a new .py.. making the robot do the standard actions (like flip or ram, whatever you wanted to do with omni) but dont have it able to use the spin input yet use the section "def LostComponent(self, id):" with the numbers of the components and make it stop other actions and use spin (which you would then wire to whatever action you wanted you would also want to add the section from FBS_1 that stops the spin analog when the robot is being couted out thats just my guess and rough estimation of what you would need to do, it will probably be more complicated then what I said 10305

Modifications / NAR AI v3 Mod - Ideas and Discussion« on: October 13, 2009, 10:21:27 AM »Quote from: Naryar;72423 I COULD try to get the Ti full sheet to attach to the baseplate. thats a fairly simple thing to do, read up on the BeetleBros tutorial to find the correct name for the connection and just use the same dimensions as the other attachment point Quote from: TriTon;72424 Cool! Could you possibly make new replicas? yeah... notice that lack of replicas in Nar AI at the current stage ? Naryar does think replicas are worth spaces on an AI team lol also Naryar, did you read my comment about a naming idea in my mods thread ? if not.. Quote from: JoeBlo;72419 on the name topic, dont you think having DSL-N and DSL 3 get confusing when people abbreviate to DSL ? 10308

I have an anti SnS/ HS design on my bot that resulted in about 7 controls including forward and leftright, for the first time ever I can say the AI will do a better job then me :P 10312

I take it you dont have faith in SSG :P
I posted them into the losers bracket in an order so I have decided I would do it again and feed them through the randomizer and basically swap the top 2 names with each other and the bottom 2 names with each other 10314

Modifications / Clash Cubes Arena's« on: October 12, 2009, 08:39:20 PM »
the only real thing that will kill them is FBS AI as they spin up straight away and the walls are open behind them so the other robot just needs to kamikaze into them and they go flying oota, other then that the arena just reliefs them from there dominance,
my guess at the top 3 bot types that will do well in the arena (in no particular order)
of course not taking into account original robots and also speaking from a general term, a rubbish VS isnt going to beat a well built Sheck Sinner just because I said it would 10318

DSL TC Showcases / Badnik96's Showcase« on: October 12, 2009, 07:51:52 PM »Quote from: TriTon;72276 Elevator - 13 batts? That's way over powered drop down to at least 7 or 6, and use NPC's, you'll have the weight. actually more battery's = More flipping power ditch the flipper segment and the heavy skirt and get an aluminium skirt long enough to pass the chassis so that is your wedge rather then the chassis, you could shorten the chassis to do the same thing which would save you weight you have plenty of space so there is no need for the micro control board, save a kg an go with the blue one then you should be able to upgrade to NPC's 10320

well there is no need to hate me :P
on a side note I will be AIing any SnS robots with either PillarPlus or WhipperPlus (whichever works better) unless you specify otherwise :-D as FBS AIing will basically hammer the last nail into the coffin for you |
