inb4 someone misreads a rule, sends an illegal bot and everything is to be done again

Old NAR AI AI folder link has been put on the OP.

Also, please send your bots if they have been approved.

berZerk. if you wonder why it has a capital Z in the name, think of the team.

nothing exceptional. it's still extremely unstable when hit and flies all around, very powerful, but hey : if it wasn't that it wouldn't be a good Insane Berserker rebuild. 1mm plastic.

Dread Chopper. Decided to make it an actual hammer/rammer instead of the hammer with spikes ! that it was originally, and I wanted something else than a bog standard hammer with a plow (which Tip of the Iceberg will be, doubtlessly, but then it's in character for the team). Think it has either 1mm ti or 3mm plastic

And a hw for once...

It's better than the previous one, I'm quite sure of it. Still not invertible but it's hard to make it a gutripping poker while being invertible.

I COULD make it a Foolishevil style poker with static weapons, as well. But it always had a wedge in DSL, so there's that.

A bit of empty space and it has lots of armor, aka 5mm titanium. But I don't feel like rebuilding to use up all of that space. Chassis needs to be a bit big to not expose it's wheels, after all.

List of complaints to NAR AI functioning in DSL 2.2:

-The bots with metal hinge wedges rupt frequently and uncontrollably and are basically unplayable as a result (Naryar)

1025
Well, not only that, but also the familiars with NAR AI will appreciate having a link...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sf74pwlqbcmaw0/AI.rar?dl=0

^^ that is the AI folder of NAR AI 2.7 (mostly).

I will ignore any complaints about the content of the folder, however feel free to complain if the download link doesn't work, and if some bots doesn't work.

It's just an ai folder. Overwrite your ai folder with this one. Works with DSL 2.1 or DSL 2.2 (may be issues with 2.2, as said, please report them)

1026
Well, I can upload the bot folder of NAR AI 2.7 pretty easily. They even work with DSL 2.2. Not all bots will work due to some missing components, but I think a large majority will.

Oh, yes, and Red Zone and some of Prehistoric's bots are missing due to me using tournaments.

It's also a big folder. So be prepared.

edit: huh, only 76,5 mb of compressed bots ? Thought there would be at least twice more... well, i'm uploading it.

that shield is pointless as it is. remove the hammer, add wedges and make the shield a trapper, put some teeth in it.

no one uses chassis wedges anymore except in IRL or Stock LW popups, so of course "wedge" means "component wedge" in most cases. but that doesn't mean it does not mean "chassis wedge" as well

https://wiki.gametechmods.com/index.php?title=Wedge

https://wiki.gametechmods.com/index.php?title=Wedge_(robot_type)

https://wiki.gametechmods.com/index.php?title=Wedge_designs

arguably "wedge" can mean a lot of things, which is confusing:

-a chassis wedge
-a component wedge
-a bot type which is basically just a wedged chassis with no weapons : see stock Ronin

still, it's basically the same thing (something that wedges under the other bot and tries to go under it), so that's why we call all of those things a wedge.

RA2 has lived for many years after Gabriel Interactive stopped supporting it. If RA3 is indeed superior to RA2, it will go the same way.

we'll see once the game is released if unrealistic, DSL-S and IRL are still possible.

>no wedges
>enters a popup

it's the second time this happens with thrackerzod, no ?

this is retarded. i know context doesn't translate well on the internet but no wedges means no wedges, by that no bots with component wedges AND no bots with chassis wedges.

simple logic : a chassis wedge is a wedge (it's in the name). this challenge says no wedges. why would you enter a wedge ?

by "no wedges" we implicitely mean "no bots that are specifically designed to go under a bot", because that's what wedges do.

it's pretty good BUT armor seems underwhelming and i think you may have quite an excess of batteries. did you tested it ? how is the battery power after 3 min ?

chassis can be made smaller, use big air tanks instead of several small air tanks and it is criminally underpowered. Also just use a single heavy weapon on that poker...

doubt you can make a decent poker/hammer hybrid at LW level anyways. you need heavy bursts, air tanks, quite a bit of batteries AND drive, armor, chassis and weapon weight on top of that.

if you want to make a poker/hammer who will not be crippled by the weight constraints try the MW/HW/SHW weightclasses.

improved some of my former builds

civil uproar. 4 ants, 3mm alu. it's somewhat in between the stock civil disobedience and the DSL civil uprising. couldn't make it an undercutter with the stock design so i made it a wammer/HS.

i think it's pretty cool. not the most efficient use of weight but who cares about that when you're trying to build interesting designs.

devil 5, now with less huge chassis and more weapons. wedge is also longer and it has some bottom protection in case the wedge is poor. 3mm plastic.

also important : it looks badass. it doesn't even need a skin, the plastic basic one is fitting with the original devil :D

the new ripblade. think it has 1mm aluminium or something, normal npc's.

quite fast, a bit unstable but that's due to speed. the VS doesn't bounce.

any resemblance to AS's new ripblade is purely fortuitious and due to me realizing that the light hammers are now pretty good due to no normals.

I like them all.

Shogun having spike strips instead of samurai swords as popup weapons irks me, but it's still cool.

Ronin flags would be neat but you can instead put more stuff on the skin. Like more samurai clan insignas.

Since it's based off stock components, give it a name that descends from stock.

like RA2 : Stock Evolved ? RA2SE ?

Maybe split this thread into a modifications and designs thread as well ? This is no longer a custom component robot showcase.

What about RA2 Omega ? Revelation sounds pretentious imho

that sounds about as pretentious as revelation because omega is symbolism for "the end"

In my opinion, I think it should be "RA2: Past Truths" because my naming of things is really :rage

why give names if your naming of things is like that then ?
