I'm afraid I won't be making any exceptions.

Whoever wrote this has a boner for Naryar.

I have AI'ed all entrants and I have their pictures ready to add to the splash but it's late and I need to do things tomorrow, so you'll see the splash at some point tomorrow.

Nary has not sent me a suitable replacement and I have warned him about that. He has been online several times since the message and he has yet to reply, so I am assuming he wishes to withdraw from the tournament. The SBV will be up soon if he neglects my warnings once more.

I agree with Naryar so much. No need to complain about people going against what you may have told them not to ask because they'll ask anyway as this will be a big thing for Robot Wars superfans and they really want to see their favourite robot in the game.
It'd be fine if it was only once or twice, but the fact that this keep happening constantly, despite us repeatedly saying we don't take requests, is what irritates us.
Although I do agree that this could be quite irritating, some people will see the name and immediately start asking questions, paying no heed to anything else, due to excitement. Also, who said you had to respond to these people? What would happen if the people currently working on RA3 came on GTM and said "Oh God why so many inquisitive questions?? Just stop asking and let us get on with it!!"? They're letting us ask questions but not giving us answers, meaning they can find out themselves if they decide to play RA3. You guys need to do the same. Letting something as stupid as people actually being excited and inquisitive about the mod make you less enthusiastic is not right. In fact, it should spur you on more to answer ALL of their questions by releasing the mod, instead of tending to their questions individually. Directing all that traffic to Thyrus isn't the answer :P

Discussion / Re: Robot Arena 3!

I figured it means something like "Emergency, baby!"
I thought that's what it meant as well.
Same here. I thought that was obvious. Why are people assuming there's going to be an EMERGENCY baby? A lack of spelling and grammar seems to be common in that list, so I'd imagine they just copy+pasted something someone wrote down who didn't care about commas. This is why commas make all the difference.

Well, you sent me something about my bots being wrong quite a while after I've sent them and then give me a one day deadline... I can understand you have IRL stuff to do, though.

I'll send a better srimech.
Yeah, I am, admittedly, trying to rush the signups stage because I may run of time to do this by the end of February. But, if you need it, I am willing to extend your deadline but only if it really clashes with your IRL schedule.

Right, everyone is accepted and AI'ed other than Naryar. He's got a little thing to do before I accept and eventually AI his entries. So, blame the splash being postponed on him ;)

General Support / Re: Bot Always Faces Backward
« on: January 30, 2016, 08:02:18 PM »
Ffs, I have found the solution and I really should have realised sooner. The name of the robot shares a name with a replica in DSL, so it's taking that replica's AI line, first. I'll have to make a slight adjustment to the robot's name. Thanks for the help anyway, guys.

It's for a tournament, so I'd rather not share it publicly but it's one you're not entering so I'll send it to you, along with the AI line I have for it, if you want.

I was ready to slap myself for not trying that but it doesn't work. Still ramming head first in the wall :P Thanks for the suggestion and help, though.

The generic 'nose':math.pi and 'nose':math.pi*2. No matter the forward facing orientation, that should flip where it faces by 180 degrees no matter what but the robot loves to stare at the wall regardless.

So I am AI'ing a robot and no matter what I do to this: 'nose':math.pi, the robot always seems to face backward when beginning a match. It's forward facing is correct in the bot lab, too. Anyone else had this problem before?

Right, it's late but I don't have anything to do tomorrow and I can't sleep. I'm going to try and get everything done and dusted by the end of this session. I have received an entry from Nary upping the entrants to 18. So, signups are now closed but I won't move on to an SBV just yet before I check his bots and AI everyone else's. Sorry for the lack of attention to this but I have had other things distract me IRL and, after I was done with them, just forgot about this :P. This will be done.

1 doesn't particularly look that good to me. It was a tough choice between 2 and 3 for but I chose 2 based on what I'd rather see every time I checked GTM

Considering the death sentence drawback on the first, I'll have to go with money and power, Dwarf Princess II.

so you have a beard fetish ?
Have you seen her ability to shave it off? I'll take advantage of that ability immediately.
