I want to have 6 bots for each team at AI bots.
I installed 'Starcore AI V4' but it didn't allow me to fight 6 bots for each team
Somebody help me?
Install V3 before installing v4. V4 lacks the UI files to allow 6 bots per team.

And I tried Snapper Loading. But it didn't fly away as a sage's video.
Someone explain me to do Snapper Loading in detail
It's exactly the same as Sage's video. Attach a RAD to a burst motor, spin the motor, and swap back and forth between tabs until the axles flies away.

I also tried battery stacking. But I can't find certain point to stack.
It needs experienced skills or just a kind of luck?
It's a mix of both. There is some luck involved, but when you get good at it, it usually takes less than 20 seconds to stack black batteries.
Or better yet, get the Ultimate Stock AI Pack as it has Starcore V4 on top of BBEANS AI, Inf AI, PYS AI, and Restocked in one packet.
(Difficulty goes from PYS AI > Middleweights in BBEANS AI > Starcore V4 > everyone else in BBEANS AI > Inf AI > Restocked)

Discussion / Re: Which is lighter ? 1 black or 2 nifties ?
« on: April 06, 2016, 12:09:42 PM »
few issues-

the control board is larger than the nifty, so it should be used as the baseplate

once the chassis becomes larger to fit more components, those extra height clicks are exacerbated (the bigger the chassis, the more weight will be taken up by the extra height)
IIRC the control board is 1 pixel bigger than the nifty so it should still fit into the test chassis since it has 1 pixel of wiggle room.

But yeah, I'll get around to testing practical applications sometime soon, been pretty busy lately.

Discussion / Which is lighter ? 1 black or 2 nifties ?
« on: April 06, 2016, 10:10:17 AM »
Usually whenever someone uses 2 nifties they're told to switch to a black because it's 2 kgs (30 kg) lighter than 2 nifties (16 x 2 = 32 kg). But is it though ? To test this, I made 2 chassises, one that's completely airtight for the black and one that has 1 pixel of wiggle room for the 2 nifties (so that I can stack them). However, upon checking them both :

Looks like 2 nifties are in fact lighter than 1 black.... by just a kilo. So what does this mean ? It means that if your bot can afford to be at least 3 clicks tall then use 2 nifties to substitute a black as it's lighter (don't try to substitute 2 blacks for 4 nifties though, they'll end up heavier). But, if your bot can't afford to be taller than 3 clicks then go for a black.

With SnapperII wedges, you must never EVER attach anything else to the other attachment point, doing this makes the wedge itself irredeemably bad.

For a new builder these bots are just exquisite, how long have you been lurking this site ?

remember kids: if you are going to bfe, at least do something that is possible in the botlab.

sooo how did you do it then
do you think I'd waste 4 hours trying to get lucky ?
with stock you gotta do that sometimes
not resort to bfe lol
the things he did wouldn't be even possible without bfe lmao
In the end it didn't matter anyway as making the chassis slightly bigger to fit the SnapperII was way lighter than BFEing the extenders

Of course I BFEd them do you think I'd waste 4 hours trying to get lucky ?
(Fun fact : Even if you use movepixel it's never guaranteed that you'll be able to land hard stacks like 2 blacks + CB or a SnapperII exostack)

I don't know if this is legal but you may want to attach pistons to the helicopter blades and angle them down so that the helicopter can fly.

For those of you wondering why Geice rejected my first entry, here's why :
I'm sorry to say, but I'm going to have to reject your bot on the suspicion of BFE.

I find that the extender stacked inside of the anchor to not be possible no matter which attachment point I used. They are also too close to the zteks to attach.

The first razor will not attach in the position that is shown and I have never seen two razors perfectly aligned on the same extender. You also showcased the robot with said razors improperly aligned.

I would prefer that you send another bot. However, if you can prove that no illegal methods were used, I would allow and accept your bot.

not trying to sound like an ass, I just question if your robot is technically legal.

What will the RA3 standard style of build be like though?
Time will tell. Pretty sure popups will still be very good
Not if the physics actually work this time
It's not to do with the physics, it's to do with the damage model.
Again, unless the team goes out of their way to mimic RA2's damage model then I don't think popups will be any good since modern damage calculations have at least a basic concept of force/area.

Popups will still be good even if they improve the damage model, it will just be that instead of having 8 razors popping out of a wedge you have 1 sledgehammer popping out.

Nerfing popups would require calculating how much force goes into lifting the other bot and then subtracting that from damage somehow, which might be possible but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.
Maybe reduce the damage weapons do the longer it contacts with weapon/chassis ? It wouldn't affect power-based spinners and make gutrippers useless since usually they need prolonged contact with the chassis to do anything.

What's the deal with U-shaped chassis in Ironforge anyway ? They're way more common there than in Stock/DSL for some reason.
U shaped chassis gives robots all the stability of a giant 10x10 chassis wedge with a lot less of a weight investment. Why wouldn't you use a U shaped chassis?
Because it's unfair to bots with single wedges ?

"unfair"

just gotta do a longer single wedge man.
You can't do that in Ironforge since wedges have 120 cm maximum length and there's nothing that's as flat as the edges themselves to help extend them.

sometimes i wonder why i don't play ironforge more. it's really fun

then i remember that i don't know how to forge
(Image removed from quote.)
steel 3. is a good de-wheeler/de-weaponer, but sucks against anything with tough weaponry
Trapping plow needs to be way wider otherwise everyone can just run away and flank you.

Probably IRL since stock/DSL-S as only possible because of how messed up RA2's damage calculation was.

Thank you AGOD, just as i was happy with the 800 on the dot weight, you impale my heart once again with your grubby claws:
(Image removed from quote.)
Still rather damaging at least.
HS AGOD barely does anything so your bot should still be fine.
