I wasn't ure what to think of it when I saw teasers for it.  Before I saw ratings for it, I thought it would one of those "pretty visuals hiding a shallow story" movies.  But now that people are going nuts for it, even with the 98% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, I might be very wrong.  But, I might watch this movie one day, but I'm not gonna go crazy for it at the moment.
It's not all that bad, more suspenseful than your average kids' movie, but still, it's disney, not lemony snicket, so don't expect anything resembling an unhappy ending. My question is, why of all movies this one?

Because yeah.
i'm only a finalist in BBEAMS 7 which was a meme tournament and I just stole a NAR AI bot and made it dense as ****.
and Not Bushido was a thing that happened, I beat the #1 seed despite being #bad seed.

I was turned off watching this movie due to the clear pandering to furries that I saw in the trailer, an' I don't like dat sheet.
I was turned off from watching Starwars Episode 7 because Chewbaka is clearly Disney pandering to furries.
I was turned off from watching Big Hero 6 because Baymax is clearly Disney pandering to people with an inflation fetish.
I was turned off from watching Wreck-It Ralph because Disney is clearly pandering to basement dwelling neckbeards.

Dude, your fussing over the movie, over a reason that isn't even related to you, nor does it effect you, in any way/shape/form. Just enjoy the movie for what it is, and leave it at that O,o

On topic, this movie seems interesting enough for me to at least watch it illegally online. However, one thing I keep hearing is "Really good worldbuilding", if that's it's only selling point then i'm a bit worried. I want to be proven wrong, however.
What they mean by this, is the fact they play around with the scale of things throughout the whole movie.
This scene for example:
(It's basically a trailer, shoosh)

It's a chase scene through a fukin' mouse city, and Judy tries not to step on anyone/anything.

Those examples are terrible. Anyway, if I'm not a big fan of the idea of furries (you do what you wanna do, but I'm not a fan), then it's gonna be a turn-off, to me.

I have no issues with anthropomorphic animals, unless:

-it becomes creepy
-it becomes fetishized
-fans of anthropomorphic animals bring them into unrelated forums/discussions
-fans of anthropomorphic animals stir sh** and drama about other people not liking them

some people in the forum may recognize what i am talking about

Of course, this looks like typical mindless cute, feel-good stuff, so nope.

Went to watch this with a few 16-18 year olds. We all liked it.

I felt like there was something missing though. I think I wanted a bit more dialogue.

Also, the movie picked up the pace really quickly about half-way through and I didn't expect it; threw me off entirely.

It's more than than just cute animals and such. You really should watch it. I could imagine you being in the role of Chief Bogo.

I was turned off from watching Starwars Episode 7 because Chewbaka is clearly Disney pandering to furries. I bet you had to reach a bit for that one
I was turned off from watching Big Hero 6 because Baymax is clearly Disney pandering to people with an inflation fetish. That one is again very nit picky if not, just flat out bullsh**e
I was turned off from watching Wreck-It Ralph because Disney is clearly pandering to basement dwelling neckbeards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-jdP0ymYKY&t=9m55s

Anyone is allowed NOT to watch a movie if they so wish and you don't have to get mad over it if they don't agree with your opinion.
If they don't like it because they think it because they think it panders to furries then that's their opinion.
Also if they keep on saying they DON'T wan't to watch it over and over then persuading most likely won't help.

I'm afraid it's not a valid argument to use opinion when Red said it so matter-of-factly. He was imposing his opinion, not stating it, by insinuating that there was clear pandering to furries. It's fine for him to dislike a trailer if he believes there is pandering to furries but he shouldn't be stating it as if it's an objective fact.

Kinda' sorta' what I was getting at.
The movie only seems like its pandering, but it honestly isn't.
Hell... Disney has always made movies about anthro animals/etc. Dunno' what makes those any different from Zootopia.

pretty much my opinion on MLP fans:

-You're a fan of it? alright
-You have an avatar of it? ok
-You feel the need to post your pony stuff everywhere and see references in things that clearly aren't references? get out.

I could do a comment here about how Red's argument is not valid and how he's just seeing something negatively(possibly because he thinks that something he dislikes is something everyone in the fandom does?) but I'd rather not risk my reputation.

As for the movie, haven't watched it yet but I do plan to do that somehow, looks like a good movie which only has the problem of each movie, limited time, so expect a slow intro and then for it to suddenly start and get into action with the usual movie negative and positive events.

Yeah, the musical score kinda carried that movie...
I'm probably gonna see Zootopia, actually. I think it looks rather well made.

I like this thread so I'll probably like this movie. Seen it on my Kodi box / Exodus / Stream All The Sources, going to have to check it out.

I have been a fan of this GIF already:

So in conclusion.. zootopia is to furries what sausage party is to foodies? and > ponies and frozen?

I was coloring with my girlfriends children the other day...

leaving this space blank until RA3 is released.
