Replace Annihilator with Nuclear Assault and you've got mine. Though I have listened to the other albums by Metallica.

Melodic/power/symphonic metal is better imo. Unless it's emo.

You know what I'm gonna say Nary...
Power Metal sucks! It all sounds the same and is thin, bland, and genuinely dis-likable.
Yeah for me its:
Megadeth
Testament
Anthrax
Annihilator
then a few Death Metal bands like Meshuggah.

*ahem*  pet peeve of mine.  There's more to screaming than just screaming.  most people don't realise it's actually just singing with a different type of emphasis.  Therefore, if singing is music, screaming is as well.

That being said, "just screaming" isn't music.  screaming correctly is.  And, to me, someone who can switch back and forth seamlessly between screaming and singing, and do both well, is much more talented than someone who doesn't scream at all.

Of course, the above is all in my opinion alone.

*steps down off my minor rant platform*

That being said, Annihilator.  Haven't listened to them in forever.  Time to find them again.
Survival of the Fittest Is Finished!  Congratulations 090901

This is a thrash metal thread, guys. If you wanna rave about death metal, make another thread. :P

But yeah, Opeth's too soft for my liking, so I'm sticking to Meshuggah. :P

And I thought Rage was a power metal band? o_O

Metallica's selling-out era was at least bearable. There's always the Machine Head's Supercharger-era to cringe about. :P

I agree with that. St. Anger showed that they had a lot of great ideas, but just weren't in a good place to flesh those ideas out into great songs. The various live rearrangements that they've done to those songs have shown how awesome that album could have been. For instance:

The only two thrash bands I really got into were Metallica and Megadeth.
