One time my sister made mexican food and accidentally filled the house with fumes not unlike pepper spray. Food was worth the gassing, though.

Seems like a good choice. Glad they didn't just use another really young actor, hopefully a reasonably experience guy might work better this time, like with Christopher.

Maintaining David Tennant. I just like all the things about the way he played it. Can be funny and slightly wacky, can be dead serious, and has that slight Scottish accent that makes his voice a pleasure to listen to.

Likewise. Tennant was decent but his serious moments didn't work very well since he's better at playing serious villains than serious protagonists.

Tennant was wonderful, no doubt about it.

But Eccleston was perfect for reviving the show and I think that that gives him sway.

For individual performances you can't beat McCoy in Remmemberance of the Daleks though, imo.

I do agree, though...Eccleston was very good. The problem I've found, though, was that since the revival Doctor Who has become more dependant on watching from a certain number of episodes ahead, and recently has been when that number has been increasing to an undesirable level, so I just can't be bothered with it anymore. I still love watching earlier episodes from Eccleston and Tennant, because they can be watched individually, and don't have this long-running storyline through them. Just 'Arrival, Monster, Danger, Doctor saves somebody, No doubt some sort of sacrifice, Leave'...Simple, easy formula.

Since seeing the Comic Relief special though, I thought Rowan Atkinson was pretty good in the role, too.

He wouldn't be very good in the serious parts, though.

Aye, but he does definitely have that Blackadder-like wit for it, which I think works rather well.
